Hey fellow hypothyroid sisters! Hi. I'm new here and would just like to tell you guys my story. It took me 8 months to get pregnant with my son. I lost 45 pounds inexplicably while pregnant. A months after we was born I had insomnia, getting only one hour of sleep a night, and not because of my new baby! A motnh later, I could not stop sleeping. I slept for about 20 hours or more a day!!! THen my period stopped for three months and thought I must be pregnant, but the tests kept coming up negative. MY throat hurt all the time, I could not concentrate. MY eyes hurt, my arm cuff hurt, my hormone just felt off! I went to the doctor saying I thought I must be pregnant. She did a test, one of which was for my thyroid. It was six months from the start of it all. You are not supposed to be above five. I was at 93. SHe said I was supposed to be in a coma at that point, but I walked in saying something was really wrong. I went on .10mg's of levothyroxin. A month later I was at 11. So she upped my meds to.15. It's been two and a half years since it all started.
As well, I have frequent ovarian cysts. One doctor I saw in the emergency room when one ruptured really badly told me getting pregnant with my first son may bhave been a fluke. Well, we are ready for baby number two. We've been trying for three months now, I have had two miscarriages in the past three months. I can't give up hope though.
I have recently joined a water fit class and attend twice a week to try and get rid of my thyroid pounds. I am focusing on living healthy right now and not on how much I want a second child, hopefully this will help me cope, because it sounds like it may be a long ride ahead. Hope to hear from some of you soon. |
