Default Hey I'm new and just started Met

hey, i'm Issy,

I'm 25 and was diagnosed with pcos in April, although i knew i had it for years lol.

Me and hubby have been TTC for 14 months, and i never get AF or OV so fingers crossed the met will kick start some long awaited activity! lol

Would love to know the following Q's please. x

When you started Met...

...How long before your first AF?
...How long before it made you ov?
...How long before you had reg cycles?

thanks so so much x x x

I was on Met about 6 weeks before I got AF the first time (I'm back on it as we are TTC #2). My cycles became very regular after that - every 30 days. Met alone never made me ovulate, but with Clomid it did, and I did that after 2 months on Met alone.

Good luck!!

I was on met for 5 days and started AF. 6 weeks later got pregnant. I have only been on Met for 2 months now, and I am so thankful I did.

I ve just started taking met myself. Before being dx my periods were non-existant, if not months apart. But the passed 2 months I was spotting continually everyday. Since going on met just over a week ago, just upped my dose 2 days ago, the spotting has stopped. Fingers crossed its doing its job. Good luck! x

I have been on Met for about 3 days now and I am all new to this. Even tho I have had PCOS for years I have never taken Met before. The Doctor also has me on BC pills also, because Right now me and DBF doesn't want kids at the moment.

My cycles became regular immediately on Met (32-35 days), and I was EXTREMELY irregular my whole life. We didn't start trying for the first year because I wanted to lose weight. When we started trying, I was ovulating (I used an ovulation predictor) but I wasn't getting pregnant. After 7 months of trying, my cycles started getting more irregular (60 days) so I upped my dosage from 1000 mgs. to 2000 mgs. I got pregnant that month!

I started taking Metformin 6/25. My Dr told me to take one (500mg) for 4 days and then increase one every 4 days until Im taking 2000mg. Im only on my second 1500mg day. I havent really lost any weight.

My dr also prescribed me Provera for 10 days to get AF. So I have 3 more days to go on that. And then we will start Clomid. I REALLY hope we conceive this month!!

Just want to say Good Luck to you too!!!!

Just a question for you experienced Metformin girls--- How do you know when the Met is working or not? I am only on 500 mg daily, and while I feel plenty nauseous, I don't know what else to look for positively...

I've been on Met for a few months and I was thrilled last cycle when I had a typical 28 day cycle with O ( I had 50+day cycles before). I expected the same great results this cycle but it's day 31 and I either O'd a few days ago or still haven't. I'm not sure what changed- my hormones were checked on CD03 and everything looked great. I'm not sure if mixed results are typical?
