Hey guys! My name is Kristen. I'm 19 and I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have posted around the board a bit, but never read these posts. It's nice to know that not only am I NOT alone, but there are other girls my age going through the same things! It's tought being a teen, and even harder when we are limited on things--like what we can eat!!!
I am going back to college around the 18th of August. I go to Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I am a music education major and play the French horn.
My freshman year I was scared not only of being in a new place, but having a roommate I didn't know. Also things like grades and freshman 15 had me worried. Luckily, I was involved in marching band fall semester which helped keep my weight down. Also, I walked everywhere--I mean EVERYWHERE!!! Also I made myself do 15 of these killer ab exercises every time I walked into my dorm room....talk about sore abs....I actually lost weight, toned down and went from a size 16/18 to a size 14, which I don't remember if I was ever that size in junior high.
My spring semester I joined the fencing club which I LOVE!!!!!!!

I didn't think I would be able to do this, being out of shape and overweight. Thankfully, my awesome roommate joined with me and I found out that the people in the club are so awesome, and even though I'm the last person done with warm-ups and don't win my matches much, I enjoy every moment of it. Staying active and having fun while doing it really helps!
If any of you have questions about college--what to expect, classes, !fencing!, guys, or ANYTHING, just let me know. If ya want, e-mail me at
kricky88888@yahoo.com and I'll get back to you soon cause I'm a computer junkie
Hang in there ladies, and believe in yourself!!!!!
