Default Hey Ya'll... im new

Hey,
Just thought i would introduce my self because im new. Im 23 from Florida and heres a little bit of my story...
In 05 when i was 18 i went to the gyno for irregular periods she said she thought i had pcos handed me a photo copy from a book on it and said i should probably learn more about it and sent me on my way... i just kinda let it all go.. kinda liked the fact that i didnt have a period every single month to get in the way of things... nov 06 i ended up getting some horrible cramping which was weird because i rarely got a period let alone cramping... well the cramps came along with pretty much the worst bleeding in my life ended up goin to the er and found out i was having a miscarriage which i found odd because i had just taken a hpt the day before and it came back neg...not because i thought i was but just because i took one every couple of months just to make sure.. because i hardly ever got my periods..the dr said i was only about 3weeks maybe the hormone levels wouldnt of shown up on the hpt.. anyways...i finally got the courage to go to a new gyno last week but only because i started bleeding in feb and hadnt stopped until sat!! i bled every single day for 8 months... ugh it was horrible!! my new dr was amazing though!! she dx me right there and sent me off for blood work and a u/s that day i go back to her on the 3rd of nov she said she plans on puttin me on met. hopefully it will work...

Default Welcome

Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself. I just recently joined. There are so many women on here that share the same problems...stories...and everything that we do.

I also deal with irregular periods. Every Gyno I went to wanted to put me on BC Pills, said that being irregular was normal. It wasn't until 2yrs ago when my husband and I started TTC that I knew something was definetly wrong. I also went for 7 months of non stop bleeding and then 6 months of no bleeding and then 6 months again of constant bleeding...I finally found a Obgyn that seems to be helping. I went in August of this year, he put me on Metformin, Synthroid, Iron Pills, and Provera. So far I havent lost any weight with the metformin, and I was suppose to start AF the 21st and she has yet to make her visit. I go bk Nov 10th so hopefully I will know why I didn't start and maybe he will start me on the Chlomid. It's a long hard and depressing road. We are all in this together.

In the Beginning I did have...Nausea...Vomiting....Abdominal cramps...He started me out at 1000mg a day. After a couple of weeks the side effects went away. Then he upped my dose to 1500mg and they came back again...I thought I was having gallbladder attacks in which I had never had before, but turns out it was just the abdominal pain from the met. I've been on 1500mg for about 3wks now and it seems most of the side effects are gone, except for the extreme tiredness and occasional nausea. I'm not giving up though because I have heard so many success stories with it...Hang in there! Keep me posted, and I will keep you posted as well... I'm from Kentucky where are you from?
