Default Hi!

Just thought I would say hi as I am new here - well new to posting, have been snooping for a while . I live in Scotland and have only recently been officially diagnosed in January after blood tests and a scan showing I have several small cysts. I don't have a whole lot of symptoms yet - have only been off the pill for 10 months, my main problem is few periods, not good as ttc. Also getting pretty spotty and a few dark hairs appearing on my face. so, thats me!!!! At the moment we are waiting for an appointment with the fertility clinic (having been referred before Christmas) and trying not to get to stressed...

Look forward to chatting, sharing moans and getting to know everyone!!

Lins

Welcome Lins!!!

I hope you enjoy the boards... I've found SoulCysters invaluable in getting on top of my PCOS. It's a great place and the people here on the UK and Irish board are lovely.

What kind of fertility treatment do you think you'll be going for?

Paddy

Hi, thanks for the welcome!

Paddy, your daughter is absoloutly adorable!!! I have no idea what type of treatment we are looking at yet as the only person we have spoken to is my GP so far. I am really hoping that clomid will be suitable and work for us, everything else terrifies me!!!! Really daunted by the whole thing at the mo to be honest.

Hi Lins!

Welcome to the board. Everyone here is lovely and the boards have been a huge help for me, even if it's just when I've been looking for a distraction from work/Metformin sickness/morning sickness etc.

Thank you! She's a very special little girl...lovely in every way, but then I would say that wouldn't I! She's great....a very happy child who I love so much I sometimes feel my heart is going to explode.

Have you tried metformin... I'm a metformin bore - always raving about how great it is. It worked wonders for me... I went from totally absent periods to pregnancy in 8 months with metformin, low carbing and exercise.

All I can recommend is taking everyone one step at a time...I hope your fertility appointment goes well. We have a ttc thread on here...a bit quiet these days. I'm ttc at the moment so if you ever want to PM me feel free.

Good luck!

Ello Lins

You've come to the right place - the UK/Eire cysters here are great!

I've never been on anything for my PCOS although I did have 1 round of Clomid years ago, and promptly conceived No 2 son, so I can vouch for that stuff working! Also conceived 4 other little uns with no pharmaceuticals whatsoever, and my PCOS can be pretty severe, so whatever happens always have lots of hope!

Right now I'm taking the holistic route and it seems to be working (-ish)! Although I still have symptoms, they're lessening slowly.

Paddy your little un is adorable, Lins is right! I wish my lot were still so cute...

Hi Lins,

Welcome to SC. Like you, I was diagnosed in January 09 with PCOS. I did have evidence of a cyst a few years ago but I was young so I took the pill.

Now TTC, I took my last pill in september 08 in the hope to fall pregnant soon after that but no luck. And my GP confirmed I had PCOS. I was frightened that I would never be able to have a baby of my own. But since joining SC it has really help me think positivly, everyone is so nice and its nice to talk to people that are going through the same thing as you.

I do get off days when I just have the feeling it will never happen and I feel like I'm holding my Fiance the chance to have his own children.

I tried Metformin about 2-3 months ago but they made me very sick to the point that I couldn't keep any food down.

Like you I'm not having many syptoms. However, I now haven't had a period in over 15 weeks. I've been referred to a Gynaecologist and I have had more blood tests done and am now awaiting a HSG. My Fiance is due a SA on 29.06.09 and I go back to the Gynaecologist on 07.08.09. If I am still not pregnant by then he will start me on Clomiphene/Clomid but he will only let me use it for 5 cycles, then after that if still nothing, he wants to start IVF treatment.

It is all quite frightening and days I just wish for a baby so much and that I could just get pregnant. I want to feel everything from morning sickness to the baby kicking, and I want to go to the antenatel classes and have sleeepless nights! (although that part could change!!!!) I just wish for the day I could tell my Fiance I am Pregnant I just want to see his face.

Anyway, keep us posted on your journey of TTC

Caroline
