Default hi

hi ya

i am new on here and just thought i would say hi. i am 28 and was diagnosed about ten years ago with pcos. it has atken me this long to get any kind of help. I have most of the syptoms and am finding it really hard to control. when i was diagnosed not a lot was known about it. I went to see my gp as my mum had read a magzine which had a pcos in it. she had always known something wasn't quite right as from being little i was always hairy. my gp sent me for a scan which showed that i was definately suffering from the conidtion. That was basically all that was siad. i was then left to find out what it was which at the time was really quite hard. it was only about two years later that i really knew what it was.

as the years passed by i never got to see anyone about it. evenallty i was fed up and went back to my gp. I had been given a new gp as my other one had left. I explained what had happened and spent ages going back to see her. evenallty i was asked to have a blood test for something esle so i asked if i could have my blood sugar levels tested as well. A week later i was called in to see my gp and was told that my blood sugar levels were to high. I had become insulin resistant. I was told that i wasn't to eat any sugar and to lose weight.

bascialy i am still trying to get treatment now. i have been on anitdepressants for about two years on off. at one point i was under the mental health unit because of it.

i am a newbe to this site but not pcos.

Hi I am also new here but not new to PCOS, welcome to the site, hope you find the answers you may be looking for.

Ask your doctor about Metformin, almost every PCOS'r takes it and it will control your blood sugar and help towards you feeling better, it also in a lot of women helps with their weight immediately.

I am 30 and was diagnosed 4-5 years ago, Im on metformin, and for ttc I take puregon, which isnt working great on me, clomid never worked but femara did.

Are you trying to conceive or trying to treat your PCOS?
