I am a newbie here...again
I have not visited since 2007.
I'm Liz - just turned 28, dh is 36. We've been ttc since 2003....and he has not been tested for fertility problems --- I know I know... he needs tested, hopefully that will be done by the end of the month by our new RE.
My dh and i have recently decided to take a more aggressive approach to ttc. We've been on a long ttc break and have been saving our money all year.
I have an appointment with my obgyn on friday 8/14 to get a referral to a new RE. I had previously visited one RE about 2 years ago but he was very impersonal and I felt like he was just trying to sell his ivf treatments. And he never suggested testing my dh...wanted us to purchase and use all the injectables and leave his sample the day of the transfer.
ANyway, My childhood friend found this clinic that I will be going to and just had her first iui last week. So far she has been very satisfied with them and I am looking forward to my first appt.
I was diagnosed several years ago with PCOS with insulin resistance. I have undergone one surgery to remove cysts off my ovaries. Since ttc for six years now, I have gained about 65lbs, and have had a lot of heartache just like many of you have. We've had at least 12 failed Clomid cycles over the years and have been on a break for some time. Over the past year I have been trying to lose the weight I have gained which has been a little successful but I have a lot more still to lose and I have started taking metformin again. the metformin has helped regulate my cycles. I no longer have 90 day cycles. woohoo!!
Anyway, I am excited about my obgyn appt on friday and I can't wait to see when my RE appt is. I looking forward to meeting everyone and hope to get some support that I really need from other women in the same situation.
