Smile hi everyone.

my name is Emily, I'm 16 years old and have just been diagnosed with PCOS about 2 weeks ago. I am relieved that I finally know what is wrong with me. I have had irregular periods since i've started my period (about 3 years ago) and stopped getting them. I have been put on birth control and am trying to lose weight (already lost 10lbs!! ) the doc said that if i dont start getting periods then i will have to see a specialist...but she is confident that i will get one. what do you think? my hormones are out of whack and i had stopped getting periods. do you think i'll get my period soon?

thanks a lot, it feels great to know there are people out there with the same problems as me

thanks! means a lot to me.

i first found out that there was something wrong with me when i had severe abdominal/back pain in late may and rushed to the hospital. they thought it might be my appendix, but werent completely sure...so they did an ultrasound and my ovaries looked normal. the last option was to do laprascopic (spelling?) surgery. they found an egg sitting on my ovary and i hadn't ovulated since november. they referred me to a Gyn, where they did blood tests and they revealed that my hormones were messed up. so, they put me on Birth Control. Hoping for the best...this past year has been an emotional rollercoaster for me and i feel for every one of you who went through PCOS related stuff like myself.

Welcome and congrats on the weight loss!!

I was just diagnosed too, but I think that I had it when I was a teenager and it was never diagnosed....I was just put on birth control pills.....which helped.

Like the above poster, I have also just been diagnosed but I hink I had it when I was teenager as well (I am 34 now).

I am glad that you have been diagnosed at an early age and you are now becomming informed so that you can make the necessary changes. I really wish I had that option now.

Congratulations on losing 10 pounds and welcome to sc.

Sheri

Hi everyone, been checking out this SC for a while now.Actually more wehn i seem to feel so freaken confused about this whole thing i am going through. I also was diagnosted at 16(was trying to conceive then). I am now 31,Still hoping to conceive someday, still trying. Fallowed all the recomendations, Lost the weight 4 years ago (130pounds to b exact) Took the pills , had a few laparoscopic exams ,Dnc . Nothing seems to help. At the begining of this year the doctors found i had stage one cervical cancer . So now to top it all off i am going through paps every 3 months n following my gyno for PCOS every 2 months . I am at a lost ladies. I just could not just read n not talk to anyone. If anybody has any pointers or anything.I would grandly appreciate it.
