Hello everyone im new here and just thought id stop by and kind of introduce myself. My name is Melissa and i was diagnosed in december of 2005. I always knew there was something going on with me and my periods and been irregular since i was 13. i'm now 21 and me and my fiance are trying to conceive. i'm on my second round of fertillity drugs and im hoping the clomid works this time. My doctor said if it doesn't the only other thing he can do is send me to a fertillity clinic that i cant afford, and theres nothing he can do about my PCOS as metformin makes me sick. If the fertillity drugs dont work i have no idea what i'm gonna do. I'm scared, lost and confused. Until today i didnt know any one else who had this problem until an internet friend pointed me here and for that im grateful, maybe i can get some insight into whats happening.

Welcome sweetie! Hang in there! You are young so that is a bonus with this lovely PCOS. Before you panic if you don't respond to the fertitily meds there are alot of us who are in the same boat who DID respond to a different med called Femara or Letrozole. If you have insurance it is usually covered because it is not a fertitily drug. It is actually a cancer drug but they figured out it is an estrogen binding drug. Even if you dont' have insurance this is a fairly inexpensive drug compaired to the long run of fertilty testing. I didn't respond to clomid, Gonal F or Metformin at all. Switched docs went on low carb and birth control for 6 months the last month took (10) 2.5 mg on cycle day 7 of Femara and whamo it worked after 11 years of nothing! Don't give up girly!

Hi my name is Jennifer. I had the same problem with the metformin. You might want to talk to your doctor about Glyburide. I take that now instead of the metformin. And if I take it at night it doen;t bother me at all. Im 25 and am unable to get pregnant also. Maybe we can go thru this together.
