My name is Katrina and I am really excited to be here! You may think that's weird, but I am so happy now to know that there is a reason why I've been feeling like this and very unsuccessful at losing weight. Let me explain...
A few months ago I had had it. I decided I needed to get healthy. I didn't like having my moods be so up and down, my weight, etc etc. I went to my doctor, and she did all sorts of blood tests. The last visit, she did a breast exam and noticed just to the side of my arm pit something (skin darkening I think), and she said, "Oh, I think I know what's wrong!" So we did more tests.
Yesterday I went in and she said I had PCOS. It explained EVERYTHING!!! Every symptom she went through, it was me to a T!!! Finally, after years of feeling yucky, having no energy and hating everything, there was a reason!! There was a reason it took so long to get pregnant with my kids, when my sisters would just look at their DH and get pregnant!
So now I'm researching PCOS, and am just ecstatic to know this all wasn't in my head! My husband is too, which is good, cause I was about to boot him to the curb for always telling me it's all in my head and that I'm a hypochondriac and like my Grandma (NOT COOL, DH, NOT COOL!!).
So here I am. I'm Katrina, I live in the Northwest, and am just thrilled to be on a new track in my life. It's been a great 24 hours!
Hi Katrina. I am happy that you've got some answers for yourself! Your DH owes you a back rub or something. My DH has been empathetic and not questioning me, because the change in me has been so abrupt and vastly different from the usual me, that he can't help but conceed that something is brewing in me. I have no Dx of PCOS yet, and it may not be, but I have many, many of the Sx. So anyway, congrats, and I wanted to introduce myself because I am in the great northwest as well!
Katrina, welcome! I was elated to realize why I struggled with weight, even on ww. But there's lots of great info on IR diet and it's a great way for cysters to loose weight. This is a GREAT community! I was diagnosed in May and if it weren't for the ladies here I'd be LOST!!!!!!
