Hello! I was just diagnosed with PCOS a couple of weeks ago. My periods have been irregular for as long as I can remember. Last year, my doctor went in for a hysteroscopy thinking she'd find cysts or fibroids to explain my irregular bleeding, but didn't find anything at all.
I went in to see her on 1/9 because I had been on my period since December 13th ( I am still on it, in fact. Going on 7 weeks now, so you can imagine my joy!) she did extensive hormonal testing and said that I have PCOS. She prescribed Prometrium because I didn't want to go on birth control since we want to start trying for a baby this year. I took the first pill today, so we'll see how it goes. Any words of advice or ideas of what I should expect?
Has anyone else been on there period for nearly two consecutive months? I am at my wit's end and don't know what to do.

Honey, I was just diagnosed w/PCOS last Tuesday and I was so overwhelmed with the stress of not knowing what was going on with my body. It may seem like everyone is slow in diagnosing or testing but in the end, you'll see that it was all worth it.
I have heard of women with "never-ending" periods. It's not as rare as you think. Just make sure you keep a log of all your symptoms and discuss it with your doc.

I went to the doctors who didnt beleive me even though when they tested my blood, my Iron was ridiculously low (60) and my hemoglobin was also very low, finally when they got sick of me complaining they sent me to a specialist who put me on the pill to stop it and diagnosed me with PCOS
