Question Hi I'm new, Aldactone anyone??

Hi I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19 and haven't been on meds in a long time (I'm now 26) and I was put back on Metformin and Aldactone, and I was wondering if you guys could share any of your experiences with Aldactone? I've read some stuff about clearing acne and reducing hair growth but I'd like to hear your personal experiences if anyone is willing to share with me plz

Oh I almost forgot...lol my name is Angie and its nice to meet you all!

Hi, welcome to SC!

I'm on 100 mg/day. I love it! My birth control already took care of most of my acne issues, so I can't comment on that. But the hair is definitely better - it's not totally gone, but it's a very nice improvement. I have noticed that my skin is a lot drier now than it used to be, so I have to be good about putting lotion on just about every day. And the texture of my hair changed. It used to be pin-straight, but when I started on aldactone, I started getting more waves and body.

Hi Angie,

I've been on Metformin and Aldactone for years. I recently stopped the Aldactone because I'm trying to get pregnant, and I honestly wish I could keep taking it!

As soon as I stopped taking it, I definitely saw my facial/body hair, acne, and hair loss increase. So, yes-- it helped me tremendously!
