Hi, I'm new here! Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and website, but not new to PCOS. I was diagnosed when I was 18 after my mom made me finally go to the doctor because I wasn't having a regular period. My doctor referred me to a wonderful endocrinologist. Unfortunately at that time I wasn't really willing to take PCOS seriously. I wasn't having sex or trying to have a baby and so I just kind of put it all on the back burner. The doctor put me on bcp so I would have a regular period and I eventually stopped seeing him and just went to my regular doctor for my yearly check ups.
I'm 28 now, and married. We just hit our 1 year anniversary and decided we are ready to start trying to conceive. About 5 or 6 years ago I lost a bunch of weight and noticed that my pcos symptoms were better. Since I've been with my husband, the weight has slowy crept back up and I'm close to where I started at.
I know I have some stuff to get in order, I need to incoroporate a low GI diet and excercise back into my lifestyle. I need to find a endocrinologist I feel comfortable with (sadly, the one I went to before died of cancer), I feel like I have a lot of work to do.
I'm so glad there is site like this where I can talk to people going through the same thing. We've only been TTC for about a month now, but I'm worried it will be difficult for us. I've been trying to read up on stuff and get educated, but there is so much information that it is overwhelming.
So hello to all of you! I look forward to reading your journeys and giving and receiving advice!
