hi im new to this sight and im so glad there is a support network. i am 19 and currently on dianette which i have to take a break from soon. im worried about what might happen once i come off........any advice on deit tips to help control the symptons?? or are there any other medications i could ask my doctor about??

A low carb or insulin resistant diet with lots of exercise seems to be key for many women with PCOS. Keeping insulin levels low helps prevent weight gain and androgens from getting out of control.

As for other medications metformin is often used for PCOS women to help reduce insulin levels and all the bad stuff that comes with it. It also helps with ovulation so it regulates cycles. I obviously have now way of knowing if this medication is appropriate for you but it is worth discussing with your doctor.
