My name is Annmarie, I am 32, I was diagnosed 4 years ago with PCOS, and have been kind of ignoring things (out of sight out of mind) until now......I was told initially I would need help conceiving about 4 years ago so I was a bit surprised when I was pregnant in 02, the day before my DH (BF at the time) was supposed to get tested to make sure he didn't have any sperm issues.......I was told I conceived because I had lost a bunch of weight and regulated the PCOS, well I gained 60 lbs with my son and he was 10 lbs 12 oz at birth....it took me almost 3 years to lose most of that weight when we decided we wanted another child....after 1 year of TTC I was put on Metformin and A fertility drug...gratefully it took amazingly fast and within the first month after the fertility drug was added to the metformin I got a BFP.....I gained 50 lbs with him....he is now almost 4 months and I have only lost 40 of the initial 60 from the 1st child and I seemed to have plateaud there...my symptoms such as excessive hair growth (my biggest peeve) and weight have increased and I have come to terms that I need to get this under control (30 lbs would be nice)....I am hoping I will understand this syndrome more and get in under control with your help.....thanks for listening/reading.
I hear you on the pregnancy weight gain. I think between my 3 I must have gained over 100 pounds! I've never been a skinny person, but when I had my first two 15 months apart, my weight just skyrocketed. Then prior to my third pregnancy I was diagnosed w/ PCOS and I lost a lot, and actually got down into the "average" weight range! Well, I gained a lot back when I got pregnant. I'm still working on it.
I got pregnant on met too. Congratulations on your 2 children!

im on clomid at the moemnt as im having trouble TTC and metformin didnt work ofr me im hoping to loose a little bit of weight over next few months only about 10lbs just to try and help me out a lot!
