i have not been diagnosed with PCOS but i suspect that i may have it. i have a doctor appointment next week so hopefully i can get some answers. but i thought i would post here and get some feedback from some of you! my only real symptom is excessive hair. i have dark hair on my chin, forearms, line below the belly button, and on my entire legs including thighs. i have always thought that i was just a hairy person but over the past 10 years or so the hair has very slowly gotten worse. i have been getting laser on my chin as this was the most embarrassing for me. anyway, as i have been learning more about laser hair removal i read that PCOS is often the cause of hirsutism in women. i know it sounds stupid taht i never considered my hairiness to have a possible medical cause but its true!! i just learned how to deal with it. anyway, i have always had regular periods except about a year ago they went from about 28 day cycles to about 23 day cycles. i have never been overweight and i dont have any of the other symptoms that i have read about. so what i am wondering is if anyone with PCOS only has the excess hair problem. thanks so much for any feedback you can give me!!

I'm not sure about if you only have 1 symptom. Who am I to say. But it goes without saying that if you are concerned bring it up with your MD. Hopefully you have one who is smart about PCOS. But, be forewarned that most aren't. And some don't even know what that is so be prepared. Good luck.

thank you all for the warm welcome! i have my appointment next week so hopefully it will go well. my husband and i want to have a baby and i am worried that it will be difficult or impossible.
