Default Hi! New here!

Hello everyone!

I'm new here as well. I'm 19, and I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 weeks ago, my main symptoms being quite classic - weight gain, acne, irregular periods and hairloss on my head but excess hair on my face and stomach.

Having gone from an XS to an XL in a matter of months, I'm finding it quite depressing and disorientating. I can't wear almost everything in my wardrobe and have taken to wearing my mom's clothes. Am wondering if anyone else is grappling with the same issue?

I've been started on Yaz, does anyone know how long it will be before I start seeing any change in the symptoms?

Also, are any of you worried about having a baby next time? I've been reading many TTC experiences and it scares me as I have always wanted to have lots of kids =(

Cheers,
Cheryl

Hey

Even though I'm still new here myself, welcome
I know what you mean. My whole life I've been between a size M and L. Its very upsetting to just see that all go away. For me, the weight is my biggest issue too and it bothers me all the time. Its just nice to know that there are people who I can relate to now and know what it's like going through all of this.

As for having a baby, I'm very worried about it. My family doctor told me that I should be able to have kids, but it'll be difficult and I might need medications to help aid that. I've always wanted to have kids and I'm really hoping that I can get all of this sorted out.

I can tell you both that people do have kids with PCOS! We have an entire mommy board for that! My mother is also a mother with PCOS.

My biggest issue personally is weight gain as well. I have always been the chunky kid and it can be issue to deal with. But you must embrace yourself as big and beautiful!
