Smile Hi new here possibly dx

Hi!! May be long as I like to chat!!

I'm a 26 yr old mother of 3 kids (6,3,1). Ever since I had my son in Aug/05 my cycles have been terrible. I've always had painful sex from the time I started having it as well.

I went to a new gyn after my old gyn wouldnt do much of anything about the pain, my cycles coming earlier and earlier, lack of libido, hot sweats, etc.. The new gyn sent me for a u/s, urine tests, the whole exam that my previous doc never did. He even told me at one point "if sex hurts, dont have it then". Nice doc!

I never had a problem with fertility.. I've always been the fertile one except for some reason I never got preg before I was 19. Yeah.. lucky me I wasnt planning on it, and I always thought I was infertile before that. Then I became pregnant when I graduated from high school in 99 and lost the baby the next month after. My son was born in 2001.. 36 weeker, my daughter in 2003, also a 36 weeker, and my 2rd son was born in 2005 a 37 weeker. Doc was puzzled why I couldnt go full term. Water broke all on its own in all 3 births.

I also have a problem GAINING weight.. I've been trying to gain weight after I had developed c-diff after the antibiotics I received in labor. I'm now 5'4" 112 lbs. I can eat a whole large pizza and never gain a pound LOL. Ive always been told I have a high metabolism but now I'm starting to wonder. I weighed 110-120 most of my adult life, more so 110-115.

My periods? Geesh.. After my last baby and I do mean LAST, my period didnt show up for 3 months after I had him. Doc prescribed me progesterone but I never took it since it showed up the next day after the appointment. Since then, its been heavy, small dark spots i'm assuming are clots, cramps, and just as example, it came 8 days early last month. Keeps getting shorter and shorter as time goes on. Hubby had a vasectomy 9/05 so no bcp for me.

So I got a call today about my u/s and the other tests. My u/s showed multiple follicles on my ovaries and my uterus has a calcification on it. She said its not a tumor on my uterus, more than likely from having a d&c and my cervix lasered. Shes leaning towards PCOS as a dx right now and I have a list of tests she wants done in the meantime. She even said no wonder I feel off most days, my hormones are out of sync. I'm surprised I never had multiples!!

I always felt my hormones were off since I had my son. I even went to an endocrinologist and his words "nothing is wrong all results are normal, take this Paxil and see ya in 3 months." So I'm assuming my new gyn is getting more hormone testing done and see how it compares. I do have excess hair, hair where there shouldnt be hair (LOL), terrible mood swings, and just feel BLAH most of the time. My hair falls out easily, bad acne that I NEVER had before. I mean sure, I had a pimple here and there, but this is bad now. Lack of desire is another one that I'm not happy with.. I used to be raring to go ALL the time.. now its only when I'm ovulating or a day before my period. Thats how I'm judging my cycles now Also terrible IBS since I had the little one.

Glad to find this site, I've been reading it since the u/s tech said that I had cysts on both my ovaries.

Welcome to Sc. I just wanted to point out that more than likely, those multiple follicles that were on your U/S aren't all mature follicles capable of releasing an egg. They are more a result of your body not working properly. So multiples aren't really as likely as you might think.

I am sorry to hear that you have been struggling with some issues. It sounds like this doc is better than the last by a mile. Good Luck on your up comming blood work.

Default Thanks :)

Thanks for the warm welcomes!!

So even with the multiple follicles I couldnt have multiples from it? Thats weird

Does anyone think my symptoms are lining up with pcos? My ultimate fear is having a hysterectomy from this. I was thinking of having another child once my three get older and I dont want those hopes to go away. She told me that I'll more than likely be put on a low dose of birth control.

I'm assuming the low dose is not to prevent pregnancy but to stop ovulation. The problem with the bcp is that I get massive migraines from them. I wonder if its from too much estrogen.

Shes testing my TSH, cholesterol, LH, and testosterone. I'm lucky I found a doctor that was willing to find where my symptoms are coming from
