Default OK, new question....

My Lady had not had a oeriod for about a tear, until the first of Dec. She had started birth control pills in Nov., and it started right on time. However, she has been bleeding(lightly) since, never stopping completely. She is seeing an OBS/GYN and is in the Detroit area. It worries her , and m e as well. She is going to her doc tomorow, who has dont ultra-sounds(outer and pelvic) . Does this sound like a good course of TX? She has weight gain, and the lack of periods, prolly high test( didnt do a blood for it, dont think). Any ideas who might be a crackerjack Doc in that area? Thanks in advance, Clay

I used to live in suburbs of Detroit, but never went to GYN there. Sent tlcur107 a PM. She's a friend of mine who's also a cyster. She should be able to recommend a good doctor.

If the bcp isn't working, it may not be the right combination of hormones for your DGF.

I was dx by pelvic ultrasound. So it sounds like she has a good doctor. Has she had her insulin and blood sugar levels checked?

Default Go see a Endocrinologist...

Clay,

Depending on what you are trying to achieve, you may want to get your girl friend to a specialist. If you are not planning on children right now, you might want to go visit a Endocrinologist - the hormone doctor. However, if you do plan on having children ...then the reproductive endocrinologist may be best...

No, not planning on kids- Im 57 and have 4 grown ones, she is 39 and has a 3 y/o. Plenty! She called today about her bleeding, and the nurse will get back with her. Says that she has had problems with generic b/c pills in the past. She was kinda short with me yesterday in RE: my "helping" her with PCOS , and so Ill just let her handle it. Just wanna be there for her, tho. Thanks for all the help- Shes a wonderful, intimate, caring lady! We get on well.

Hi Clay!

Good to have ya here!

My wife had some bleeding issues before being diagnosed -- the key, imho, is to get a good diagnosis, and getting a doctor that is well versed in PCOS, preferably a Reproductive Endocrinologist. The medical help that my wife has gotten has helped her in so many ways.... she's doing really well now, AND she's pregnant

Anyway, if theres anything we can do to help, or if you have questions/etc... feel free, if we dont know the answer, we'll help you find it! (if there is an answer, that is LOL)

Later-

-=\Eric/=-

Ive tried to get involved, but she is adamant about doing it herself. Thats OK, its her body, and I know that there are some things Id rather do for myself, too. We havent been together long and I can see her hesitancy. It will work out, Im sure, tho I hate to watch her hurting.
Ill just keep lurking here, and thanks again- Clay
