Hello there,

I am wondering if anyone gets the Hidradenitis- like acne only when they are on BCP? I was on Ortho Tri for years and while my face looked great I got painful cystic acne all over my body (thighs, back, etc). A year ago I went off BCP and my facial acne got really really horrible and while I continued to get body acne, they weren't painful or big for the most part. Last week I went on Yasmin and now all of the sudden I'm getting huge, painful body acne everywhere. On the upside, my face is already looking better!

Can Hidradenitis symptoms be caused by me bring on BCP? Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any suggestions on what I can do?

welcome to sc hmm, i dont know about bcp causing hs. I have hs anyway and am not on bcp.

I went to see a Derm this past Friday and was immediately diagnosed with hs. I have never been on bcp and the only other person in the family history that has hs is my aunt who was diagnosed about 7 years ago. Not sure if there is a connection with bcp, but in my case there isn't.
