About 6 years ago i started getting abcesses in my inner thighs, thats when it all started, 5 doctors and numerous antibiotics later, which i became immune to, i found what was wrong with me off the web, took this article to the doc and he says, yes, thats what you have, Finally i can put a name to these horrible things, HS. Ive had scars removed because the main lumps keep returning in the same spot. it didnt stop them, they just grew in other places, i have massive scars in my arpits and inner thighs. i pretty much just live with them now, my mum gets the odd one, but nothing compared to what i get, and the worse thing is, there's no CURE!!, so to all the sufferers out there, thank you for this site, now i know im not the only one out there with this debilatating disease. Thanks, Alicia |

For the longest time I (TMI coming) would NOT let my husband get down close to the scars on my inner thighs. Then I realized that I loved him even though I shaved the stray hairs on his back so...I was sure he loved me with my scars. Met has helped them decrease alot! Outbreaks are triggered by hormones!!! So even time I get pregnant or nurse...there they come again!

My Mood: Points: 280.30 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 280.30 | Hey everyone! I have been reading through here for awhile now and decided to register and ask a question or two. You all seem to be very well informed. I have had the boils in the groin area and they usually come back in the same spot. Very painful but yes instant relief once they 'rupture'.. The armpit area is something new to me. Just a few days ago I woke up with pain in one armpit and after feeling around I felt a bump so I looked in the mirror and it is red in the area but I wouldn't actually call it a boil. Then a few days later the other armpit...same thing! There is really nothing to pop (yet?) but it hurts like h*ll if you barely press on it. Of course i've done convinced myself it's probably time to start making funeral arrangements.. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac but dang it all these bumps boils lumps and whatever else scare the poo out of me! (i'm 33 yrs old) |

My Mood: Points: 280.30 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 280.30 | Hi Eva! Thank for replying! Yes, I am going to see my doc. about it. In the meantime I research and try to talk about it with people who have the same problem because for some reason it eases my mind/worries. I have a great husband but trying to talk to him about anything health related is really a waste of time. All he will say is.. ''go to the doctor if your worried, I can't do anything''. Never no other kind of input at all from him lol... |

I'll warn you though the pain will get worse as it comes to a head. Drawing salve is kind of messy and smelly too - it's a dark brown lotion and it smells. Only use if you can cover the area with something that will keep the salve from getting on clothing.
When I hot pack I use a towel in the bathtub - I get the water as hot as I can stand then I put it on the area and keep it there until I can longer feel heat - then I repeat it. Also soaking in a hot bathtub helps - adding some epsom salts helps too. But remember - many ob/gyn's don't recommend too many baths. |

Losing the weight corrected a lot of my hormonal problems, therefore, I figure that these painful boils were hormonally related. Geez, I forgot about them! |

I think Im finally beginning to see how all the pieces fit and how many symptoms I really have of PCOS. I think its time that I really start working on this issue |

My Mood: Points: 2,002.55 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,002.55 | You know this is really weird. When I lost weight my PCOS symptoms got more aggressive. Can that even happen? Before I only had the weight gain, irregular period and high testosterone levels. After surgery & losing weight I now have the hair growth, HS and the whole darkening skin thing. I’ve only been on Met for 8 days now and only on 250mg which will be gradually increased to 1500mg but my last HS outbreak which was a few days ago only lasted for one day and it wasn’t as bad. Although good Lord the itching is driving me nuts especially when I don’t itch. But I find washing wit an antibacterial soap and applying baby powder really helps. |

Points: 233.88 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 233.88 | I need some advice about the latest boil in my armpit -- it's located in an area that isn't allowing it to come to head or for me to even attempt to pop it. It's in the crease of my armpit and I can't pop it - but it HURTS so bad and anytime I move my arm I can feel it because of where it's located.
I've tried hot packing it, drawing salve, and soaking in epsom salt baths. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
PS - i hate going to the doctor for this -- they are no help -- so if anyone has any tips it would be helpful. |

What i do is to keep the area clear of any deodorant (i use a pit rock, but dont use it when i have a hs flair up), and wear something sleeveless to keep cool...... if that doesnt help then i go to the gp for anti biotics.
