eva | Good to know I am not the only one. My Doc said food would not aggravate these - but I know if I have a chocolate fest - I am gonna be in pain! It may not cause them - but it will inflame them!

My Mood: Points: 575.49 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 575.49 | I have had this problem for about 3 years now. It can be the most painful thing in the world. I have them on my inner thighs, underneath both breasts, in my armpits, the backs of my legs, my stomach and waistline. I have ruined more clothes because of the bleeding and draining whenever they please. My Dr gave me antibiotics but that didn't work. I have never had them lanced, I've always been too embarrassed. I usually do it myself, which aside from being incredibly painful, is probably not the smartest thing to do. I always thought it was from sweating, thank god I now know I'm not the only person with this totally unattractive problem.

eva | I know they say it has nothing to do with it - but I can be doing okay, everything under control, no stress, no period - and if I eat too much of it - I will flair right up!

Does anyone know if there is anything that will get rid of the marks? |

My Mood: Points: 4,384.18 Bank: 87,623.14 Total Points: 92,007.32 | Both the one in my left leg-pit (only way I can think to describe it...basically the "armpit" where my left leg meets my groin, on the groin side) and the pilonidal cyst on my tailbone decided to burst and drain today... I was already feeling kinda tired and my throat hurt, and then a little fever today. Now this. Plus I've felt bloated, and eating Wendy's (convincing myself it's ok because I go on Met in a few days and will have to give up french fries) did NOT help. Ugh. I feel so gross and disgusting and unattractive today. How much you wanna be the BF wants to have sex?

Points: 7,459.12 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,459.12 | Oh god. This thread has helped me tons. I've had these on my inner thighs for as long as I can remember. I was always so embarrassed by them. No gyno ever said anything about them. So I asked my GP the other day, and she started me on a round of bactrim. I'm hoping against all hope that the bactrim will resolve them. For once in my life I'd like to be free of them.
My fiance` has been so understanding about them though, I was so embarrassed about being intimate with him the first time, but they don't bother him, which really helps me to feel better about myself. God I love that man.
This site has been such a relief to me. The more I read, the more answers I find, and the better I feel about myself. Some of my PCOS symptoms have left me really depressed over the years, but none more than the thighs. Thank you girls so much for bringing this up and making it not so taboo to talk about for me. |

My Mood: Points: 64,372.78 Bank: 937,125.14 Total Points: 1,001,497.92 | I am so happy to have read this thread. Everyone's experience has been such a relief and has given me some knowledge that I didn't even know. I have been getting these extremely painful boils/body acne under my arms (causing some fierce scars when they have ruptured and gone away), on my breasts, my belly, inbetween my legs, on my labia .....I've always felt unattractive and embarrassed when my DH has to see them. Initially my mom took me to a Dermatologist and she put me on high doses of VIt A and Beta Carotene. I had to have the ones on my thighs and labia lanced because they were so BIG and PAINFUL. I've even gone to the brink of lancing them myself. The scars on my body are horrific from getting these since I was 13 and now I'm 32. But....since taking MET/Byetta and getting on a low carb/higher protein diet, they seem to be arriving less frequently. My OBGYN who diagnosed me with PCOS/IR in 1999 told me that apple shape, facial hair, body acne, discolored skin were all s/s of PCOS/IR. Anyways, thank you ladies for posting this information!

My Mood: Points: 485.38 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 485.38 | I have just been diagnosed with PCOS, then found out that I have SEVERE dysplasia (LEEP tomorrow), and am now learning that these monsters on my thighs are HS. Now I am thinking: what's next? Seems my bosy is falling apart.
To make matters worse, we are TTC, and my hubby just let me know that his inability to perform lately is due to my disgusting things --- my words, not his. He says that even with the lights off it is the mental picture that is causing him to not be able to get close. Heartbreaking.
He has been wanting me to see a doctor, but there is something humiliating about showing them to another person when my husband can't even look at them without turning away.
I have the classic PCOS belly ... which makes people think of me as obese (I guess I am) ... and I always thought that the acne "down there" came from that. I had never heard of PCOS, thinking that the weight in my belly came from Thyroid problems or something. Or maybe the cokes I drink all day. Or lack of movement. LOL
I have looked for pictures of cystic acne on the web, but cannot find anything showing the inner thigh area. I want a comparison to see if I really have this ... or if it is just something else. I have pictures of mine ... the ugly areas bleeped. Can anyone stomach emailing me so that I can send them to you to see if this is what you suffer from? If so, esabrinapatrick@hotmail.com can get you right to me.
I have also just learned ,while typing this, that I suffer from self-esteem problems. Great. |
