My Mood: Points: 312.34 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 312.34 | Wow, it's amazing how many of my medical issues can be explained be PCOS! I had a horrible one in my arm, it got to about the size of a golf ball! I finally had to go to have it removed. It was so horrible! After that, the little ones don't seem so bad.

Just wanted to share, my RE recently instructed me to use DIAL ANTIBCATERIAL soup only on my body during bathing/showers (especially the areas where my HS appears). Keeping the areas clean & dry. I'm also on MET and BYETTA which has helped the incidence of my HS.
Coming to the realization that this s/s of PCOS is just something I'm going to have to live with the rest of my life. Eating sugar makes things worse, so I'm avoiding --- this is one of the most diff things I've ever had to give up. But the "gross" feelings I have about my body/the HS/the scars they leave --- I'll do whatever I can to STOP it!!
Hugs to all and I'm so glad we can openly discuss how the PCOS/IR s/s effect us and our lives/relationships with others.

I had one about the size of a quarter once on my inner thigh. My DH had to lance it for me. It was horribly painful. I always thought it was because I was chubby and gross. I have the book that the OP was talking about, but I haven't read it yet. My doctor recommended it and it came in from Amazon a week or two ago, but I've been too busy to read it. Now I am going to make time!!

I've been SO embarrassed with the boils on my bits, and thighs, and sometimes my rear end, that I want to hide from my husband.
It's nice to know I'm not alone!!
So lancing these are bad, yea? I know when I've drained them by myself because the pain has become too excruciating, it's relieved the pain but left a nasty scar, I admit. The insides of my thighs look like a mine field, with the deep purple welts that have been left behind. (And for once, I'm not ashamed to say this.) Now, sometimes they'd just burst on their own, and STILL leave marks, so, kinda screwed either way it seemed/seems.

My Mood: Points: 11,744.49 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,744.49 | Someone's probably said this already, but just another heads up----be very careful with these, especially for you girls who are gym-fanatics. I don't know how the rest of the country is doing, but the Mid-Atlantic is having a massive outbreak of the MRSA staph boils----Almost every single county around here has had to shut down one or two schools for a day to scrub out the gyms and hallways, etc. My parents are teachers, and one of their coworkers got hers from the gym where all the basketball players in their high school work out.
We get 'em 'cause of the PCOS, sure, but there are non-PCOSers out there getting them right now because of the outbreak. One healthy high schooler in Maryland died within the last 8 weeks or so from it---so be VERY careful with them right now, and make sure you don't just "let it go". Go see a doc if it looks worse than normal, lasts longer, or if you feel bad.

For years I had a lump in my inner thigh/groin area that was always so tender and sore and sensitive. Then it got big and red and drained. Now I have a scar with is basically a hole in my skin. It looks like a big pink crater. I hate it so much... and I don't know how to make it go away.
But it's good to know that I'm not alone!

I have gotten some in between my thighs before more like in the panty line area. But I just had the worse one ever it was between my legs and it got huge!! I always just took a hot bath when I got one and put some antibiotic ontiment on them and they would go away but this one just wouldn't go away and no matter how hot of a bath or how many hot rags it wouldn't pop. So I went to the doctors and they had to lance it and then pack it with cotten. OUCH I was in tears it hurt so bad. Then they had to give me a shot of antibiotics in my hip. I went in every other day for the last two weeks to have it repacked. Today was my last day going in and there is still a small hole so I have to be carefull. These are the worst and I never want one again. I think I have been eating to much sugar over these holidays so no more for me. If any of you have some good suggestions on how or what helps prevent these I would love to hear.
Glad I'm not alone in this. But so sorry to hear that others had to go through this too.

I did try the Dial Antibacterial but it really dried out my skin. Maybe I will get some more and just use it down there or on places I get them (I even get them on my breasts but not as bad as the ones down there, just small ones).
I think they get worse when I am not taking met.

My best advice to give is to sit in a hot bath, as hot as you can stand.. other than that, I plan to give the toothpaste one a try and see what happens and possibly the egg one too.
I just wish we didn't get them, they are very icky.
Anyone have any tips on how to remove the 'core' ? |

Anyone have HS on their breasts and still successfully breastfed?
My breasts (under and sides) are the worst infected right now. I would like to breastfeed but I'm a little worried...will it do any harm to the baby to be so close to these things? What if one gets infected bad? How will I be able to nurse if one is extremely painful and/or draining?
Help!
