My Mood: Points: 2,051.20 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,051.20 | I have read that Tea Tree Oil may help. I think I am going to try it out. I will let you all know how it goes Has anyone found a deoderant that doesn't cause issues? I spent ten minutes choosing one today, and ended up with Tom's of Maine unscented...it is a deoderant and not an antiperspirant. Any luck with Tom's?

My Mood: Points: 986.41 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 986.41 | Thank you so much for posting this! I've had these for a few years under my arm and in my groin area/upper thigh. They are so painful and I've showed them to doctors and they all said the same thing:stop shaving. UGH!
Anyway I was wondering if I can try the tea tree oil on my upper thigh/groin area? I have one the size of a quarter that keeps reappearing in the same spot on my upper thigh and I am trying to avoid having it surgically removed.
These are so painful and embarrassing. Thank you PCOS and diabetes, really appreciate it!!!

Points: 6,992.19 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 6,992.19 | I have these mostly on my thighs and some I've had on my legs. They used to be tiny blackheads but in the last year I have gotten some bigger ones, about the size of peas.
The most frustrating aspect of this are the marks they leave behind. i have more pigment in my skin as I'm south Asian so the marks stay for like a year.

Points: 432.49 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 432.49 | OH MY GOSH!!! I thought I was the only one who had these!!!! I've had them DOWN THERE for over 10 years...and in the past few years they've gotten really really bad. I googled it and that's when I found it they were a PCOS symptom. That's when I started reading about PCOS and pretty much diagnosed myself. My PCP shrugged it off as a "clinical diagnosis" and that there was little he could do. I've been to so many doctors for this condition....countless dermatologists and other drs that didn't know what it was and would tell me it's just foliculitis. But now i get them under my arms, on my bum, sometimes on my back...ugh. I"m so glad i'm not alone.....i wish there was a magic pill or something to totaly get rid of these!!! |

Wow...I really do not feel alone anymore. I had one of these when was younger. I was maybe only 15 or 16. I had to go to the dr and have it lanced. Gross, but it was full of blood, hair and puss...it was the worst pain i've ever felt!!!
Now what's strange, is that tends to happen under my chin, on my neck. I have alot of excess hair under my chin and i notice sometimes i get like a pimple, but it ends up being a long ingrown hair under my chin...ugh.
What do they take out when they take them out surgically?? I thought these things were just like pimples but really big blood/oil filled pimples. (again gross i'm sorry) |

I was just diagnosed at the end of march, but have had the "lovely" experience of HS for at least the past 7 years. The more I read about all of the other symptoms linked to PCOS, the more my body is making sense to me FINALLY!
Thanks to OP for this post (even if its a few years back), and thanks to all of you wonderful SC's out there! I know I am not alone. |

Points: 328.16 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 328.16 | I haven't been formally diagnosed with HS, but has had numerous doctors tell me that they were nothing more than a skin infection and would prescribe antibiotics and tell me to clean with Hibicleanse. None of which has helped. Now they aren't trying anything, except telling me to lose weight. I had one doctor the me quote,"Once you lose weight, all your problems will magically disappear." My husband is in the Air Force, so I never see the same doctor, I think that could be part of the problem.
Has anyone tried fade cream for the scars in the armpit area. My husband has been so supportive and he knows how I am about my underarms. I won't even wear a tank around the apartment in case someone comes over. My scars are very dark and he bought me fade cream. He had used something similar awhile back with one of his scars and you can barely tell its even there. i am hesitant to try it for myself.
Any thoughts? |

And as much as I like being a "dirty girl" for my husband i didn't think that the doctor explanation of being dirty was right (especially since I was washing all the time). I have found that as long as I take my Metformin and have NO extra hormones (even the Mirena IUD affected it), I seem to stay in check. I have terrible scars under my arms and the insides of my thighs. I decided to go on NO hormones when it moved to breast tissue near my armpit. |

I know I am not alone. | i too was amazed that my weird-not-ever-working-correctly body, all came down to PCOS. That there WAS a name for it! I was glad to know that it was more than just being overweight. I am just sad that it took so many of us SO LONG to find out what caused our problems. |
