I get HS too. I've notice that I don't get them or don't get them as often if I eat/drink organic dairy products, mainly milk. I still eat regular cheese sometimes though. I attribute it to all of the steriods/estrogens they give cows to produce more milk. I also used to drink organic coffee, but now am caffeine free. Don't know if that really helped, but it's worth a try. I also try to by Tyson chicken products because they're hormone free.
Hope this helps!

lamaannalove- I have done that with the Tea Tree Oil when I have an HS lesion that just wont come to the surface but is painfull. I will have to warn you though, it will melt your adhesive tape or whatever you use,and will make it an oooey gooey slimy mess. But it works for me. Try the Tea Tree Oil first as just a wipe on type thing. Some people are really sensitive to it.You can dilute it with vitamin E oil or even olive oil.
I hope that you find some relief soon. I should mention that for me, I see a big reduction when I take my metformin and eat a good diet, as I am IR as well, it helps when I am a good girl and get my blood sugar in line.
This usually helps keep things to a minimum, but when I get a flare up, I take long hot baths with epsom salt and then do the tea tree oil on a pad overnight thing.
hopen4acur- you had some good advice hun. I too find dairy can do it for me. Definitely stay away from the hormonally enhanced milk and all that. Drink lots of H2O and try lots of things and see what works best for you. I also got your note and I will try and respond soon with more info. I am just moving to VA and still settling in and don't have much time for details, but will reply soon.
I would be happy to answer any other questions anyone might have, feel free to email or PM me!
Karen
