You want to season with herbs and not salt.
Watch the sodium on all foods, dressings...everything. Cut back or stop processed foods...canned stuff, premade and prepackaged meals, cheese singles...don't eat that stuff.

I am on medicine too for it, but I would get a home blood pressure monitor and keep track at home also keep a journal to give to your doctor. It helps because I used to get stressed going to the doctor and my BP was significantly higher at the doctors because of it. Good Luck with everything and I agree with what all the previous posters said just didnt want to repeat advice!
