I am not sure what my last blood pressure was, I know it's usually like 145/ 90 I think. But every time I get mine checked the nurses always say how it's higher than normal. My MIL says mine is higher than hers and she takes medicine to help her blood pressure! I went in for a doctors appointment about it and they said that I just have a normal high because at every doctors appointment at that place, since I was 17 (I'm now 20), my blood pressure has always been high. So they don't seem to care too much. But I have high blood pressure too! Even if it's considered "normal"

I've been told my blood pressure is too high... But apparently it's "white coat" related, i.e. I get nervous at the doctor's office and it rises. My doctor is trying to figure out if I actually have high blood pressure, but she doesn't seem too worried.

I have had hbp for a while... though my father had it too. Everytime I go to the docter they have to check it at least 2x, if not more. And every time I donate blood (every 8 weeks) It's always elevated and tehy always comment on it. I was prescribed yazmin, but only filled the first month due to the high cost of copay for it. I am taking 1000 mg of met 2x a day (well, trying to get it more stable...). But it runs in my family, so it is also hereditary for me.

I too have high blood pressure, have had since I was about 11, am not 19. I am taking two meds for it (triamterene(hctz+potassium) and atenolol). For some odd reason I keep getting spikes in mine. Like I will be lying in bed one minute and the next I am lightheaded and dizzy and my heart is racing and my BP is through the roof! I used to go to the ER every time, but that kinda got old. For now I just watch it and wait for it to go away. The joys of medical problems.

My BP goes up and down if I don't watch it. For a while I was eating a lot of oatmeal and it went way down, but then I guess I got lazy and it came back up.
