High Blood Pressure Meds??

I've had high bp since the day I turned 18 and had been taking 80mg of Propanolol twice a day and 12.5mg of water pills (can't remember the prescrip name) once per day. Recently we found out I was about 6 months pregnant and the doctor decided to switch my bp meds to Methyldopa (generic form of Aldomet) 500mg three times per day. He also stopped the water pills altogether.

The side effects warn of drowsiness and dizziness. Drowsiness I've been experiencing already without the meds (I feel like I've slept through this whole pregnancy so far). Does anybody else take this and do you know when the dizziness goes away? At this point I'm not doing much driving since my mom or sister takes me to my doctor appts/clothes shopping and dh takes me everywhere else but while on these meds it says to not drive or operate heavy machinery until I get used to the effects.

Anybody know when that'll be? I just started taking them today so I know it can take time and I don't mind relaxing but I feel like I'm always sleeping. The doctor thinks this just may be the way my body is coping with the pregnancy. I could just be getting paranoid LOL.
