Hello Ladies!

I usually hang out in the TTC boards but am visiting this area with a quick question about high blood pressure.

So I went to the doctor (GP) for a tendonitis issue, and instead came out with a HBP concern!!! Curently I take 1500mg Metformin, and recently finished days 4-8 100mg Clomid. So I am wondering if Clomid can raise one's BP? The GP was wondering if the RE ever checks it, and he does not- I will say I run a little high at Doctors offices, but check it at home and it is normal- then it just shot way way way up!! <175/100>!!!!!!!

I am afraid that I won't be able to try for a baby untill this is resolved- I am due to O in the next couple days.......

Anyone here take BP meds?

Hi JaimesMom--

I take Atenolol (25mg) for my high BP, with 1000mg of Met. So far, it's worked out well. I tested yesterday and was @ 121/78. Unfortunately I've never taken Clomid so I don't know if that would make things worse for me. Have you tested again recently?

I would recommend Methyldopa (Aldomet). That's what I'm on, and is a category B drug. It's an older blood pressure medication, but is safe for pregnancy, so if your BP doesn't go down, ask your doctor about it-- best of luck!

Hi-Dont panic!! I take Aetenol 50 mgs and i have been on it for 3 yrs and I just did a round of 150 mgs of clomid in April and my blood pressure did not go up at all.
And you can still ttc, u will be fine they wil lput u on a bp med thst is safe for pregnancy! Mine is safe. So dont worry still DTD and try, u will be fine!
