Am I the only one who is as randy as a teenage boy? I think about sex to distraction. The men in my life have mostly been unable to keep up..... with one or 2 exceptions
And frankly, I suspect it's my excess androgen levels. If/when I get this under control will my sex drive calm down? Seems like a cruel joke to make a gal fat, hairy and balding while giving her a raging sex drive!
I always thought low libido was associated with PCOS. At least that's the impression I got from reading these boards.... maybe it's different for everyone.

No, you're not the only one. And yes, it's the high androgen levels. And yes, the comparison to a teenage boy is a fair one. As far as the males in one's life are concerned, if you can find one who's got a high enough sex drive, then he's not going to be worried by the hair etc.!
Sadly, yes, if you get your hormones brought back into the normal range for females the libido drops to the level which most women have, which may vary from non-existent to very limited. Which is one reason I'm NOT keen to bring my hormones into the "normal" range but am content for them to remain where they naturally are.
That's good to know. With so many Cysters out there with a low sex drive I was weirded out at first. I've always had a very high sex drive and at least now I can give a biological reason for it!!!
you are definitely not alone. I had been on BCP's for 10 years and found I had a very low libido and then once I came off the pills and my androgen levels increased it was a different situation. hehe. My husband was happy of course. My doc put me back on the pill to regulate my hormones and now I have practically no interest at all. I am so happy to be coming off the pills in 2 weeks and then beginning clomid to TTC #1.

I'm with you on this too!! I have noticed that as my PCOS was being treated, I wasn't attacking the hubby every time he walked into the room. lol
It is a good thing sometimes and a bad thing at others. I had no idea that PCOS could cause a low sex drive. I have only had the opposite experience!
It's so great to know I'm not the only one!

Haha! aw I am the same, I think about sex alot during my say, more than the average male friend, although when I started the pill it lowered ALOT, its perked again but not as much as it was lol...
Ha ha! I just post this in another thread. But yes I had a LOW sex drive for a long time while being diagnosed with PCOS. Then the last few years it's been high. I am taking metformin and it has seemed to lower it a LITTLE. I am not as insane about having sex. Atleast I think i t is the met. Maybe someone can answer that better. Just wanted to put my two cents in, you are not alone.

Yes!!! Finally there are other people like me!!! I love sex...hahaha...seriously. Sometimes it would come up in conversation at girls night out..and the others always talk about how they avoid having sex and they ask me and Im like...I LOVE SEX! They look at me crazy but I know its with a little envy. haha...well at least we know our men are more than satisfied!
well at least we know our men are more than satisfied!
It's what we can offer that the vast majority of women can't even come near to equalling. And most guys seem to attach infinitely greater value to it than to "femininity." Other women don't understand their need for sex and their obsession with it. We not only understand it, we share it. We orgasm more readily. Some of us even ejaculate.
I have found my over active libido an annoyance and major issue in relationships. I talk with my friends about sex and they are telling me they avoid it as much as possible and I can't seem to be satisfied. My husband is content with sex once or twice a month and I am a raging lunatic after a few days without. I always feel rejected and unwanted as a result. I would love to kill my libido and make it silent. You are soooo not alone with a high sex drive.
