I have an extremely high sex drive and always have. I have been with men in the past who have not be able to keep up or who have almost got tired or me being 'horny' all the time and would start to turn me down.

I currently have a partner who is as sexual as me. My problem is I like my high sex drive and do not want that to be altered. I was JUST told I have PCOS but have not been given any treatment as of yet as I am waiting on a clinic apt. I want to make sure whatever they are going to give me, and whatever birth control pill they switch me to, will not lower my sex drive.

Does anyone know of things I should avoid?

I'll tell ya what... For the last 5 years, I've basically had no sex drive...... I don't know why, maybe its because of the pcos? I was just diagnosed with it in Sept., but If you ask me I've had it for maybe the last 10 years..... I use to love sex, not so much anymore, I feel like if I never had sex again , it would be alright...weird huh? Or maybe it's because of my spherical girth...not wanting to get naked in front of a guy or something, hell my cat even growls when I get naked, O.o

And here tell I thought it was just me!!! You sound just like me though Medina. I was thinking the same thing: It must be the high levels of testosterone, right? I believe so anyway because nothing else seems to explain it or justify it. My BF and I have sex every 4-5 days; on average it's usually 4 but on occasion he'll give in on day 3. If he's tired, I have to wait until day 5 or 6. And that's the most frustrating when you have an unnaturally high sex drive.

I feel so silly sometimes asking him for it and then he turns me down or thinks I'm a sex fiend. He'll be like, "can't tonight just be a chill night?" or "do you ever just have a night when you want to relax and just spend time?"

It makes me feel like I'm addicted or something. Thing is, there's lots of nights we have sex and I'm not really horny. I do it to satisfy him but in his mind he doesn't see that and so 2 nights later when I'm horny from something he's done or whatever, he thinks I'm the one spazzing out! Amazing, huh?

Since being on Met though I have noticed that a lot of nights I have no real drive for sex. I have been really moody at times too since being on the BCP as well. Or maybe it's the Met. Not sure.

Many or most of the treatments for PCOS contain either estrogens or anti-androgens. Sadly, it's going to be very difficult for you to avoid losing some of your sex drive. It's because we have male-type levels of testosterone that some of us have male-type sex drive. That's one reason that it's a good idea to balance the medical need for treatment against the merely cosmetic effects of treatment. For myself I'm happy to skip the drugs with a cosmetic effect in order to keep my sex drive.

Hey, I understand where your coming from. I felt the same way, I like my high sex drive and I also didn't want that to be altered in any way. I lost 90 lbs since Sept. 07 and that helped my symptoms of PCOS, A TON! I did a Low Glycemic diet... and it helped take away everything bad and I still got to keep the good Which is the sex drive, I did it 100% natural.. no drugs.

I am currently on Nuva Ring, I just started it 2 weeks ago... if I sense any lack of libido with it.. I'm off right away and I already told my boyfriend that and then it's back to square one. Which I really hope it doesn't because I really like it, it's thoughtless and the side effects have been minimal so far. I have noticed some hair loss while in the shower and this is probably my main concern. I'm hoping it's my body adjusting and everything will be okay w/i a couple months. I am growing out my hair, and that's the last thing I want is to be loosing hair anytime, but especially now. Also my breasts are very tender, so much so that there is NO playing with them for now, and I have to wear a bra while having sex. Sorry if TMI, but I don't hold back much Anyway so far I feel no difference in my sex drive.

Good luck, let me know if you have questions..
