Hello everyone: I was looking at a JC Penney's catalog the other day. I noticed that they sell home electrolysis kits. I wonder if they work? Has anyone ordered and used one? If yes, how did it work? Thanks!

i bought one a while ago. It feels the same as plucking, but it wasn't permante for me it lasted a bit longer then plucking, but if you have a ton of hair it would be sooo time consuming.

Thanks for the response shorty. I wonder why it wasn't permanent? Isn't it SUPPOSED to be? Well, I want to get some more feedback on this before I try it. Anyone else with any experience with this? Thanks.

Sorry. I haven't tried it. I read a long time ago that the home kits aren't powerful enough to actually cause permanent hair removal.

HI-
I have a pretty heavy beard when I let it grow out - which I did for a couple months of trying this. YUCK!! It did not work! (had to let it grow in order to grab on to the hairs with the tweezer type things which contain the electric charge.) I embarressed myself something awful with the facial hair which I'd always shaved. I am 57 years old and tho they knew something was wrong with my hormones by age 19, no one did anything. When I was pregnant with my only child at age 26 an ER doctor mentined that I might have Stein-Leventhal Syndrome (now known as PCOS). I was not diagnosed till 2003 when my husband's VA doctor noticed my shadow because I hadn't shaved that day, asked a few questions and suggested he could help me. He was wonderful!! He put me on Metformin and I started water aerobics twice a week at the same time I started a low carb diet. After a couple of weeks I started losing weight like gangbusters - then began having pain in the left side and discovered through trial and error that the pain went away if I did not take the metformin and came back if I did. I have gained it all back but know that diet is the big key and intend to use these products from this site as soon as this house sellls.

Did you like doing the water aerobics?

There is a home electrolysis system that works. It is called One Touch and it must come with a needle (not the tweezer one). I still don't advice using it, as it takes a lot of practice and skill, hurts, and is very difficult to use on yourself. You also must keep your fingers wet with salt water to use it properly.
Please see my response to this post here: electrolysis
