Now that my homestudy is done, anyone have any suggestions on things to do to make the days go by quicker till we get "the call"?
I have convinced myself that our phone will remain quiet and years will pass while we remain childless, I do hope that I am completely wrong about this.
I want to thank all of you that have answered all my silly little adoption questions to this point, I'm sure as time goes on that I will have more questions that I need answered.
Organize your entire house... I have yet to do that & it's really bothering me now (but I now have a ton of other things to get done before Aimee gets here so it'll have to wait again!)!
Take a class (like an adult ed class where you can learn something cool)
Think about how you're going to set up your nursery (I wouldn't do it yet, ours has been sitting complete, empty since 11/2005 b/c I just couldn't wait to do it)
Go on dates w/ DH (soon you won't be able to w/ baby in toe!)
Take short weekend trips occassionally. We've done this, we love driving trips though which are so much cheaper than flying!
Read every book you can about adoption, attachment/bonding, childcare, etc.
I think that's all I have now, just don't sit & not do anything b/c you'll drive yourself crazy!
And I'm sure you won't be waiting for years!

Congrats on finishing your homestudy!!! I don't have any suggestions, just want to wish you well. You'll have a new little one in your house in no time (or at least in His time).
Thanks for the advice Traci!
Dh & I are planned to take some courses at the local University.
We are also in the process of purchasing a home so that should help some of the time go by.
ProudPCOMom & Cooper,
Thank you for your support & well wishes. It means alot...Thank you!
congrats on finishing up your homestudy- i'm right there with you. i just finished this week
i agree with the girls above- i am totally "nesting" right now. i look around my house and think "what are the odds i'll really finish these half-done projects after the baby is here??" i'd say SLIM! like this week i'm off on spring break (i'm a teacher) and i am filling my days with organizing and finishing up projects around the house.
i AM, however, working on my nursery. i've been looking at an empty room for 3 years, trust me, it will NOT be harder to have it set up. at least now i know a baby is coming! so that's been fun. we're painting it this weekend.
isn't it a strange thing to have no idea when you'll get the call? i mean, just for financial reasons, it's really hard to plan. we have no idea if it will be 2 months or a year and a half! we're just going to save as much as we can until that day
good luck to you- and keep me posted. pm me if you'd like to chat more.
God bless,
Jennifer
