I apparently have an incompetent cervix. I came home today after miscarring my second baby at 20 weeks. Oh...he was so little..I miss him being with me sooo much. I don't have alot of information about incompetent cervix and after speaking with my doctor today I feel worse. I already feel him move...Oh..this hurts soo bad. I lost my first baby at 17 weeks. Anyone have any info on incompetent cervix? Thank you
Oh hun, I just can't even imagine! My losses were all early first trimester, and they were devastating as it was! I can't even imagine being that far along... I am so sorry hun! You and your beautiful baby are in my prayers!

Oh my gosh I am so incredibly sorry. I too just lost my son at 17 weeks and my Dr believes it was IC. Please feel free to private message me if you would like to talk.
There really does seem to be a rash of IC losses lately, it is so heartbreaking!!! I am sending you and your family all my thoughts and prayers.
Melissa

Oh no! I'm so so sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself and let others take care of you too. Know that your cysters here on this board will support you in any way you need.
By the way, there is hope... something called a preventative cerclage can be done to try and counteract an incompetent cervix - it's a stitch to help hold the cervix. I haven't had one, but there are plenty of ladies here on the board who have m/c due to IC and have gone on to later have happy healthy babies with the help of a preventative cerclage. You may need to see a high-risk OBGYN during any future pregnancy.
But for now, know there are lots of people praying for you, including me.

I am ic cyster as well. I lost my first set of twins at 18.5 weeks because of ic and later on carried another set of twins with a preventative cerclage.
There are quite a few of us here and there is even a thread. I am sure it will be posted, I tried to look for it but I couldn't find it.
I am sorry for your loss and hope that you find and get the support you need to get you through such a horrible time.
I also agree that there have been many losses lately that appear to be from ic. I read somewhere here that usually the fall is when it hits more often, but I am begining to think that is wrong. I lost mine in the month of march. Seems more like spring to me.

I am so sorry about your losses. I also have incompetent cervix. I lost my twin daughters at 21 weeks. There is hope, with a preventative cerclage placed early in the 2nd trimester, and close monitoring by a high risk OB, in most cases you can get close to full-term. Try to find a high risk OB doctor in your area, and meet with him or her for a consultation prior to getting pregnant again. This way you can have a plan when you do become pregnant. That was one of the only things that helped me get through the pain of losing my daughters. Also, I saw a grief counselor and that helped me immensely too. Again I am so sorry for your losses.
I am so sorry for your loss. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Sorry you have to be on this board, but the cysters here are so great; I am sure they will direct you where you get some answers.

When in the hell are more doctors going to start regular screening for this horrible condition??? I can't believe how often this happens to cysters. It's agonizing.
I just wish there was something anyone could say to ease your pain. I can't imagine. I'm saying a prayer for you tonight.
Thank you all sooo much for your prayers..I need them all. I spoke with my doctor yesterday before leaving the hospital and he didn't sound very confident about a cerclage. He said he does them about 2 times a year. That is not often. Now I am concerned because when I miscarried in March of last year I had a D&C. This time the mid-wife had to have an ultrasound tech come in and tell her that the bag of water was gone and that was the placenta hurting me??? She called the doctor and was told to go in and get it out. I had to make her get her hands out of me because she felt so agressive. Then she started up again and I was in and out of it because of the pain meds..so it didn't hurt that bad when she started up. My husband did ask the ultrasound tech if everything looked right after she finished and he said yes. I want babies soooo bad and I have everything runing through my mind. Especially since my doctor told me about bad things that can happen with a cerclage instead of the good. I have to go to the funeral home and pick up my little baby's ashes. Oh my heart hurts sooo bad!!! When I wake up and remember that I am not pregnant it hurts!!
