Points: 7,225.62 Bank: 1,073.94 Total Points: 8,299.56 | Hot!!! Ok, i work in laundry in a nursing home. I know with no a/c down there it gets hot. But we are a building outside of the main building, with a door that leads outside. We always have that open except durning the winter. But my problem is, when its like 75 or even 85.. no one else is breaking a sweat, but i am drench in sweat. It seems like i cant cool down. I always turn the tempature down in my own house at night so i can sleep. Its always on 70...with a fan on me. My husband would be freezing, but me i will wake up with my hair drench and my clothes from sweat.
I am fairly certain this is a hormonal thing... but is there meds that can stop it? Is there anything over the counter i can get to help.. a bit low on cash to visit doctor. I hate always having to rush home from work to rush in the shower because i am so sweaty. I hate the feeling i get when i am at work and my bangs look like they just got out of the shower.
Help!! |

The weird thing is that even when I feel like I'm dying of a heat stroke, my skin is cold and clammy. Of course my dh is cold natured so he wears long sleeved pj's even in the summer. I call it his body armor. Anyway, I would be interested in finding something that would help too! |

Thanks for asking this question, I hope someone has some info about heat intolerance | I was going to say, "Wow! You should try living in a place where it's just not supposed to be as hot as it's been this summer! Like Washington! I live here for a flipping reason!" And then I saw that you're in Vancouver, and then thought, "Oh! You know exactly what I'm thinking! I live in Longview!"
I have been heat intolerant my entire life. It sucks! It is not supposed to get THIS hot here, which why I love WA, but I've been dying all summer long. I'm a believer in Global Warming these days.
And worse yet, my 4-year old DD has been heat intolerant her whole little life, too, so much so that if it does get to be about 75 degrees, I have to bring her in the house or she starts to get really sick. What is up with this? I always say that I would rather be freezing cold than hot all the time - I can always warm up just fine. = ME ALL SUMMER LONG.

If I b*tch about my discomfort in the heat (which I do often - there are only 3 things that make me MISERABLE - being tired, hungry, or hot... get me in all 3 and it's a perfect triad of hell), my friends tell me to turn on "The Air" and relax. I tell them I don't have "The Air" - this is WA FFS, and they flip. "You don't have 'The Air?!'"
"Not the cold kind."

My Mood: Points: 9,772.12 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 9,772.12 | We have A/C, it's why I married my husband... just kidding
This is the first summer that I have managed to not have too many heat issues, but that is because I have stayed indoors since July I love to garden and it just kills me not to be out in the sun digging in the dirt... I can't get up early enough to go out while it is cool, so I just have to wait a couple more weeks to get back out there with my shovel. Thank goodness my Mother in Law came to visit and completely weeded my yard and garden one morning (she gets up at 4 am - eek) she was done by like 930-10am!!! I felt horrible that she did it, but she insists that it is like meditation and exercise for her.
I remember last summer I had a horrible problem with, um, this is embarrassing, a diaper rash like condition in all the place that I am extra rolly, it was under my breasts, along my bikini line, under butt cheek creases, and the worst was the inner thighs that rubbed together and stung so bad I could hardly maintain the tears as I tried to walk about like a normal person. I smelled like Desitin all summer! Thank goodness DH, who was DBF at the time, is rolly polly too and completely understood and was dealing with it too!
I feel like such a old person having to stay out of the heat and take it extremely easy... I can't do much of anything, even with the a/c knocking the temp down (we have 2 window units, so they don't get the whole house, but it is better than none).
I'm so tired of sitting life out because my body is malfunctioning! |

| Cream for Jock Itch is the best thing for that kind of heat rash. I was told that it's a fungus. I also get it under my belly and under my breast. Jock itch and/or athletes foot cream works wonders... Also as preventive measures.. any baby powder with it's base being corn starch will help some moisture to form itself.

I but medicated baby powerder underneath my breasts. This really heals and helps the inch. Then i put ky jelly on my rashes. I put it on at night, next morning gone.
I am glad i am not the only one that deals with this problem. But i still wish i knew if there was medication for hormones that might help lower this problem. |

I had never considered that since this is my first summer back on it full time... and this summer has been the worst ever for heat... any of you gals take spiro too? |
