DH's version is to take a bag of fresh or frozen wings and put one layer on the bottom of a large shallow casserole dish. He pours over about a cup of white vinegar, Louisana hot sauce to taste, a few tablespoons of olive oil or 1/4 stick of butter, salt and Splenda to taste. He bakes them in a preheated 500 degree oven for about 40 minutes. He turns them, adds more hotsauce and splenda and puts them back in till they are fall off the bone tender (about 30 to 45 more minutes).
I just get the big bag of frozen party wings at the store and make sure when you get ready to cook them they aren't frozen. I season them with Lawry's seasoning salt and some black pepper and garlic powder mix them all around in a big bowl and then I get a pot out melt a few sticks of butter and then I add hot sauce we usually use Red Hot or Louisana Hot Sauce and then pour some of the hot sauce into the butter and I add some black pepper and more garlic powder to the butter and hot sauce mixture and then sometimes I even add some honey in there just to give it a little sweet taste but still spicy. Mix it all together on meduim or low heat. That is the sauce and I always usually deep fry my wings in oil. I never bread them just put them in the oil and let them get nice and golden brown and crispy and take them out place them on some paper towel and get some of the grease off and then I put them all in a big baking dish and then pour the sauce all over them and mix them all together coating all of them and we eat them with blue cheese. We just love love HOT WINGS!! * If you don't like to deep fry them you can always grill them on the BBQ grill and after they are cooked just pour the sauce over them. I never had any luck with baking them because they always for some reason never come out crispy they seem wet and the skin is not crispy enough for us. You can bake, grill or deep fry them though whatever you prefer.
I have a recipe for grilling them out side. I get the wings and season them all up with my favorite seasonongs. I like lawry's and adobo and also pepper. I put them in a big ziplock baggy and add my favorite hotsauce (I also use habanero sauce-but caution habanero is very hot) let them sit in the sauce for at least a few hour, overnite would even be better. Then cook them on the grill medium to low heat. When they are done you can put them on top part of your grill and put the flame one higher and it will crisp them. very very good taste fried and grilled.
