Default houston, texas - comparing practices? need to make appt. ASAP

i'm needing to desperately make an appointment ASAP...i'm not sure which doctor to go with...i've read a lot of good things about Dr Allon's pracitce and the pratice with Dr Schenk and Valdes

have any of you been to both practices? comparison? or if you haven't been to both, some thoughts on perhaps why you chose one over the other?

a bit about me: was disgnosed in college, about 10 years ago...struggle with weight a lot, have on and off cycles for past couple years... no pregnancies, we try to do most of our medical naturally through essential oils/homeopathy....tried met/gluco and hated them...am not currently seeing a doctor - haven't been to one in about 3 years because didn't find anyone that would really listen and help with the PCOS....been a huge source of frustration in my life. we haven't prevented children since marriage (7 years ago)..i don't want a doctor that is going to look at me and say "loose weight" because they should understand how hard that is for us PCOS gals...

reason for going: i've had a really havy cycle this month, going on 2 weeks now with heavy bleeding, lots of clotting...."bursts" of flow...which is keeping me from being in public ...haven't had a cycle like this before

will gladly share more if needed....would just love some help in deciding...maybe through your experiences, perhaps similiar....i can decide.

Did you make an appt yet? I have been to Dr Schenk once. She harped on me the entire time about my weight:{ She would only prescribe one month of Clomid and thank goodness it worked. I've heard good things about Dr.Allon, although i've not been there. Good luck

When I go to an RE Dr. Allon is the one I use. I am very overweight and although he did say that a little weight loss goes a long way about 5 or 10% loss he did not harp on me about it. He is one that likes to use natural supplement type stuff. Fish oil for one example. I do like him personally!

I hope that helped some. I have never been to another RE. I live 3 hours away and have to drive so I dont go see him very often. However if I lived in Houston I will see him alot more.

thanks so muh to both of you - before i read these messages i went ahead and choose dr allon, and it looks like based on what you both said and what i've read on here i've most likely made the right decision.

i had my appointment on friday and it went really well so far....another appointment this week (once i hopefully stop bleeding) for well-woman, blood work and maybe another ultra sound and then meeting for course of action.

i''ve never had hope before....finally i just might!
