Thread: How About Vitex?

first off i've been dx with pcos for about 15 years, no af what so ever without meds. clomid never worked for me no `o`. got pg after coming off the clomid.I'm a medium sized cyster 140 ilbs (10 st)no excess hair just slightly on upper lip (not really that noticable).
I.ve been on virtex 2 a day for nearly 4 months and nothing has happened not even spotting.my temps are a bit higher and steadier than normal and i'm not as much of a bit*h so my mum says so i suppose thats something.
But don't be discouraged by my post everyone is different and different things work for different people.a lot of the cysters have had good success with virtex.
I will keep carrying on with the herbs as i feel they will eventually do something for me, but i am one of those people who is very impatient and when i want something i want it yesterday.At the moment i would just be happy to have af.

Vitex (Chastetree) berry (Vitex agnus-castus) Women Actions: Tonic for the reproductive system. Common Use: Chaste tree berries, or Vitex, has the effect of stimulating and normalizing pituitary functions, especially its progesterone function. It may be called an amphoteric remedy, as it can produce apparently opposite effects, though in truth it is simply normalizing. It has for instance a reputation as an aphrodisiac and an anaphrodisiac! It will always enable what is appropriate to occur. The greatest use of this plant lies in normalizing the activity of female sex hormones and it is therefore indicated for menstrual cramping pains, premenstrual stress and other disorders related to hormone function. It is especially beneficial during menopausal changes. In a similar way it may be effective in helping the body to regain a natural balance after the use of birth control pills. Not recommended if pregnant or nursing.

I get AF from taking Vitex, but I am not sure if I am O'ing. From what I have heard you can get AF and not O.

It also has Dong Quai and Siberian Ginseng. I take 4 capsules in the morning, which is 400 mg of Vitex. I haven't had any luck yet, but had been taking only 200mg (I need to learn to read the label better ).
