Many women with PCOS can get pregnant using treatment with Clomid pills or tablets to induce ovulation. Metformin is an "insulin sensitizing agent" primarily used to control diabetes. In recent years, it has been found to help stimulate ovulation in some women with PCOS. Here is a website that has more information about your questions: http://www.advancedfertility.com/pcos.htm
