Unhappy How can I have PCOS if my mentrual cycle is regular?

Hello,

CAn anyone help me, does irregular mentruation CAN NEVER be separated from having PCOS?
I always have pain in may lower right abdomen and my oby asked me to have my urine and pecal checked however the results where OK.
So she asked me to have transvaginal untrasound, it was found out that I have polycystic ovaries. I asked here to point the cyst in the picture but she said that its too small to be on the printed ultrasound images.
I was surprised because I am 5 foot and 4 inches and 107 lbs. Im a slim girl and only 25, also I dont suffer any mood swing, my period comes in regular basis ever since and I dont have male features like too much hair or any hair loss though I have pimples once in a while.
Do you think I was misdiagnosed?

Please help I'm confused cause I was told to take pills.

Thanks a lot!
Please help

Che

You might have menstrual cycles, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you're ovulating...

Can you have a period without ovulating?

You might want to ask your doctor to explain the 'basis of your pcos diagnosis' so that you have a more clear understanding. Here is more on diagnosing pcos:

Also...you don't need to be overweight to have pcos. Nearly half of women with pcos are so-called 'Thin Cysters': http://www.soulcysters.net/thin-cysters/

Hi Che! I know how confusing it must be for you. When I was diagnosed with PCOS, I was also in great shape. And I also get my period every month. Aside from my polycystic ovaries, I felt really well. But everything changed when my hormones went crazy. Although I still get my period every month, I now have many symptoms such as weight gain, skin problems, pelvic pain, insulin resistance, just to name a few.

I was in denial initiallly because I really felt well. Now, I regret those times when I should have sought treatment because during those times, my symptoms just got worse. Raise your concerns with your doctor and know your treatment options. I wish you all the best!

I cant thank you enough Jane and Kat. That was an eye opener. Thank you both. I think I was in that indenial stage. I was advised to take pills for 6 months and will have a check up on after 3rd month.
Hope everything turns out positive.
Im worried because next year i'll be turning 26 and my bf and I are planning to get married and have a family soon.
Thanks for the encouraging words.

Wow. I'm just the opposite. I have PCOS with non-cystic ovaries, but AF only comes every 4-5 months. Just goes to show you how different it can be from person to person. Also to get a clearer picture the basis of your diagnosis, you might ask for blood work to see if your hormones are at the right levels.
