It's terribly common, it seems, but I don't know any numbers. A lot of us know exactly when we conceive, compared to the average woman, so many losses would not even be known about by someone else. kwim?

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss and hope that you find some peace if not some answers. There are many many success stories around the board of subsequent babies working out just fine, so there is lots of hope. Take your time, though, until your heart is ready.

I agree with the above noter. Since we are *so* in tune with when we start our periods (waiting to see *if* we get a period way more than the rest of the female pop.), we know there is something wrong and look to find out why!

I had a miscarriage early..some women wouldn't have even known that they were pregnant. I just happened to be at the doctor's office for a PCOS checkup (she calls it) and she ran a couple tests...she came back in and said "btw, you're pregnant".

Of course, I believe most women have had at least *1* m/c...they just might not have been far enough along to know it. PCOS women have a lot more 'other' issues to deal with, which is why I think there is a higher instance of m/c. But there are plenty of PCOS women who have had perfectly healthy babies.

M/C steals a lot of babies from ALL women, not just cysters. But, aside from that, we are much more likely to suffer M/C. Since PCOS is a hormonal condition, hormone levels cause this significant increase. For instance, when my progesterone was tested at 6.5 weeks, it came back at 5, when it should have been in the 20s (at the least). For a lot of us, low progesterone is the problem, and progesterone supplementation may help.

For others, though, there really isn't an answer - their progesterone comes back fine. In those cases, I believe it's the ratio of several hormones that is off. One day, researchers will figure it out. In the meantime, at least we know to have our progesterone checked.
