Default How to continue TTC?

I just had a m/c and I want to continue TTC. How does it work? Do you use the first day of your bleeding as cd1 or do you have to wait to bleed again? Will you likely have AF after a m/c if you didn't before? How long would you wait before using progesterone to induce? I just don't know what to do. Help please.

HI. I am so sorry for your loss. The fact that these things happen is just awful. I didn't have a m/c but I had a still born. You have to wait until your next af. I was told it could take anywhere from 4 -12 weeks. It all depends on your body. I know, it sucks. I do know some girls induced their periods after 5 weeks. I hope that helps. And I hope af comes soon for you. I'm still waiting for mine. Good luck and BABY DUST to you!

HI gals,

With my frist m/c I waited until day 17 after my frist day of active bleeding (not spotting) to start taking progestrone to induce AF. That way I started my next AF started on day 28. The second m/c I waited much longer. I started to induce around week 6. The reason is that DH and I where going on vacation and I was trying to time my next O around vacation time. The frist m/c all I could think about was TTC again....so I was in a huge hurry. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this awful experience. I guess when I was young and navie I thought women got pg and that was it...nine months later we would have a baby. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and hope that you will have a happy and healthy baby in your arms soon.

Anna

It depends on what you doctor tells you. Mine said to wait for the bleeding to stop, and two weeks later he gave me the all clear. I waited until after a cycle, though. Most doctors tell you to wait a cycle because it makes the pregnancy easier to date.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I always think it's good to know what your body is doing, if you chart. I would count day one of bleeding as CD1 and not expect an O for a while. [I ovulate late anyway, but still, just see what happens.] And then I would not worry about conception until the next cycle, since your lining could be weird from the loss. If you don't usually start cycles on your own, I would ask the doctor if they have certain numbers of weeks that need to go by or if they want you to do a month of birth control pills or something. It seems like they all have their policies.

Best wishes, and I'm so sorry about your loss!
