Here's my real issue. I have fibroids. I had a uterine artery embolization in April. In the past year I've had about 6-8 vaginal ultrasounds, several abdominal ultralsounds, an ultrasound where they fill your uterus with saline. I've even had a pelvic MRI. That whole time I've only been told once that I had ONE cyst on my ovary which went away by my next ultrasound.
With all the ultrasounds I've had, how could they have missed this? Could both of my ovaries really have become overrun with cysts in a matter of 4-6 months?
MY GYN didn't really have a lot to tell me. They only thing he offered me was Lupron. He told me to see him next month when I made up my mind. Any words of wisdom you have would be great. |

To answer your question about the cysts. Yes, they can develop in the 4 to 6 months.
Do you have any other symptoms of PCOS? Or is it only the ovaries? If it's only the ovaries, then you may just have Polycystic ovaries, which is a totally different conditon then PCOS.

Have you had any cysts removed to be looked at in pathology? Or were they just seen through u/s and scans?
I developed cysts after being off BCP 10 days - so it's def crazy how fast they can develop.
What was the reason for all the tests? Are you having pain?

What was the reason for all the tests? Are you having pain? | Well, I've been on BCP's and I'm not Depo Provera right now. I've never had any of the cysts removed. As far as I knew I didn't have any.
I had all the tests because I was having heavy bleeding and pain. That's when I found out about the fibroids (about the size of an orange). I needed to have a bunch more tests and stuff done before the doctors would do the uterine artery emobilization (UAE).
I went back to my GYN yesterday because I've been spotting for the past two months and developed the worst pain I've ever had since my UAE. That when my GYN got the ultrasound machine out and found these little gems all over my overies. My last US was in April right before my UA and no one siad a thing about cysts. |

When I had my last US before my hyst, I told my dr what side a cyst would be found on. And she mentioned it as an afterthought to me because she knew that I already knew it was there. The US was actually to check on my fibroid, and US found that it had grown.
I chose not to do the emobilization because I didn't want to chance the fibroid coming back.
