My question is this, and i'm sorry if this has already been answered.
How debilitating is PCOS?
I am so – well it is kicking my ass. And the doctors are just kind of shrugging me off. But my livelihood is jeopardized.
In my case, i have also have painful long periods. I want a hysterectomy. My doctor doesn't want to do it. She has sent me to a gastroentorologist because she thinks some of my symptoms are caused by something bowel related.
Oh, second question:
Is metformin useful for increasing general health? (Ovulate, don't ovulate, I would just like to not feel like hell all the time and maybe make a dent in the adult acne.)
Please get more info on hysterectomies before you go thru with it. If you have insulin problems (IR, prediabetes or diabetes) Met can be wonderful in getting things back to normal for some women.
Some women have aches and pain with diabetes medications. I don't have it I don't think, but my Mom and MIL hurt with it.
Do you have endometriosis? Are you seeing an endocronologist or gyn?
No endometriosis apparently. I'm off the hyst band wagon for now...
I've started Met, spiro in the last couple of months... :S
Referrals to an endocronologist for September a new ob/gyn for January. Changed G.P. and my new G.P. is taking a more a active interest and provided me with the necessary referrals but he is a little baffled by PCOS.
As most doctors seem to be.
The Met has made me wildly moody. I'm all the dwarves, cryie, ragie, sleepy, euphoria-y... bah.
I know what you mean about met, I noticed that since i started taking it I've felt better but am so moody all the time. I am hoping it will go away at some point

Today was flirty and kind of argumentative. What? So weird. Yesterday was more giddy and weepy. I just hope my friends, family and passerbys aren't too confused by my moodiness.
I'm not sure... but i think the spiro might be helping a little, I just started it around the middle of May.
Thanks for the observation. I'm on a "baby dose" of spiro, 25 mg but I am very chemically sensitive.
Today's mood: disengaged. Though it's been rainy and overcast for a week... a little sunshine would probably turnt that around.
My periods are better as long as I don't skip my Met... (which I did on a mini vacation a couple of weeks ago because I wanted to eat without fear of side effects and drink wine).
I am now taking a small pharmacy's worth of drugs and some people want me to add "alternative health" methods to it. Which i'm slightly resistant but not closed to, it is just a question of $.
