Default How did this happen????

Someone help me understand this..... I had a M/C in May at 10 weeks. Started trying again this past cycle. No AF by last Friday (16 dpo) so I tested. Two digital tests clearly said "Pregnant." Today I started spotting and called the doc. My first appointment wasn't until Tuesday. The office tells me to go to the ER. I did. My HCG quant level is 4. The doctor said "That's like not even being pregnant." So....am I crazy???? I took another test just now and it did say "Not pregnant". Am I really crazy, or is it possible to M/C and levels drop that fast??? Any info is helpful.

I'm just so tired of this emotional roller coaster. Thanks for listening.

It's possible... it sounds like a chemical pregnancy which is when you find out you are pregnant very early but then AF shows up all the same or just a few days late. With a chemical pregnancy, I'd think your levels never get very high so it's definately possible for them to drop that fast - you're not crazy!

I don't know much about chemical pregnancy beyond that but if you google it you can find more.

So sorry for your frustration and loss

Unhappy

Thank you RunnerDuck for your reply. I did read up on chemical pregnacy and it sounds like this is what probably happened. Although I never really "felt" pregnant, the positive HPT made me get my hopes up again. I promised myself I wouldn't do that. I did though...just to have my dreams crushed once again.

I agree, sounds like a chemical pregnancy to me. I had 2 of them. in both cases, I had positive HPTs and also betas, but they dropped very fast and I started bleeding at 18 DPO (4 1/2 weeks along) with both chemical pregnancies. My heart was broken all the same.

Sorry for your loss.
