Post How did you memorialize your baby?

I'm thinking of getting something to memorialize our baby. I know some people plant a tree. If we ever moved though it would be heartbreaking to leave it behind. I found this website called The Comfort Company http://www.thecomfortcompany.net/ or to go directly to the miscarriage - infant loss page http://www.thecomfortcompany.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=24 and I love the figurines they have for infant loss. The ones I like the best though are gender specific and we aren't 100% sure of our baby's gender. We aren't having any testing done either. They have one of a lamb too which is what we'll probably end up getting. I also like the ornament. What have you all done to memorialize your baby/babies?

I found picture frames with birthstones at Kohl's, I bought one for each month in which I was due and put pictures of angels in them. (unfortunately I don't think they sell these anymore.)

Also, my mom bought me a bracelet with the March birthstone and earrings with the September birthstone on them...

We buried our baby, so that part is obvious, and we planted a tree at the cemetery right next to her spot. I agree that it would be best to get something portable until you are settled permanently. There are lots of sites that have things, so take your time to look around.
Good luck.

Well we also buried our baby and he has a headstone. But for home, I was very fortunate that the hospital made a mold of his feet and hands for me to keep. I look at it and it is a constant reminder that I did have a son. I also buy little gifts for Matthew whenever I go somewhere special. Eventually i plan on putting all of them in a chest or trunk made especially for him. I made a copy of his foot prints and put them in a small frame that i keep in our bedroom. Also, any donations I make to charitable organizations are made in his memory.

i also did a lot of the things mentioned.....planted trees, got a mothers necklace with their birthstone, made donations in their name (march of dimes), named trees after them (national arbor day foundation), got an italian charm bracelet and tree ornaments with angels, got a figurine with twin angels, made a memory box (provided by the hosptial), etc.

I have a special stepping stone in my flower garden that will eventually have something blooming in it all year round . I am also making a scrapbook with the pictures we got from the hospital , my Mother's Day card , a poem that my DH wrote, a picture of Jesus holding a baby, a letter I am writing about his little life inside me and all the cards that friends sent . I never want to forget how much my little Tommy is loved .
