My Mood: Points: 8,120.65 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 8,120.65 | How do you deal??? Hi ladies! I was just wondering what to write about, lol. I have soo many things that have been going through my mind lately about having pcos. I dont really understand why I have it. Of course, I know medically why i have pcos but its sort of a feeling of why did it have to happen to me. I was just wondering if any other girls around my age (18) was feeling the same way. How do you deal with all of the symptoms and having pcos. Thanks! |

I just wanted to respond and let you know that it's not always easy.
I don't know how I deal with the symptoms of PCOS.
the worst thing for me is the cramping and shooting pains that I get. I'm also not on any meds and have to deal with not having a period or anything like one.
I'm sure that other girls have other ways of dealing with theirs. My symptoms just are crazy in the last few months!!
Glad to see you around!!

hope it was some sort of help! xxxxxxx

I'm 17 and was dx with PCOS earlier this year. I am still having a hard time dealing with it. There's the whole being overweight thing, and trying to lose weight, AF being completely whacked and then going on BCP, dealing with annoying and uncomfortable side effects of Met and worrying about the future effects of PCOS on my health and my future fertility, because I really want to have children someday. Not to mention regular teenage things to worry about! LOL. For me it's just depressing walking through life dealing with all of these issues because a lot of the time I feel like nobody understands or could relate. I haven't told any friends (not that I have that many, haha) IRL about my PCOS or anything related really, and it's just hard having that to think about when the only things my friends seem to worry about are parties and guys.
Hugs to you PCOS is not the end of the world, but I know it can feel like it. I wish I had a better answer, but really I feel the same way and am struggling with it myself. It sucks. LOL.
Good luck to you, hon!

I wanted to also add that something I found was educating the people around me about my PCOS. It kinda lets people know what is going on and at the same time giving you a little hope that you are shedding some of what you deal with onto them. ( Not in the feel sorry for me kinda thing!)
The only real symptoms that I have to deal with are the missing af, very sharp and frequent pains to the ovary area, and the weight. I have most all of the other symptoms, just those are the worst.
Girls, feel free to pm me if you need to!!

My Mood: Points: 1,509.97 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,509.97 | i was diagnosed last year and ive been to the hospital more times in the past year then i had in probly my whole life, but i look at being diagnosed an answer to the questions for why i am the way that i am. ive had the symptoms of pcos for as long as i can remeber but it does get agravating sometimes. my friends know about it and they keep me in check with my diet(sometimes) and im gonna swim for my school for my exercise and just the diet alone is a hassle for me though because im 15 very involved with my school because i do athletic training and i dont get home till around 8 and on game days i have to have my mom drive my meds up to the school so i can take it, ive actually had people come up to me and ask if i was a druggy because i geuss the saw me takeiin my meds after school. i was like ha no. but anyways ive kinda just excepted that i have pcos theres nothing thats gonna change that and i try not to let it get me down to much even though there are those days.ive just gottten so used to it its in my everyday routine and i dont give it a second thought most of the time.
i hope i was help to you and i always check the message board so feel free to pm me whenever you want!

good luck! |

Points: 1,261.70 Bank: 4,024.89 Total Points: 5,286.59 | i havent actually been diagnosed with pcos, but i share many of the symptoms. like, it makes me self conscious because parts of my skin looks ugly. like it really affects me when i want to be intimate with a guy. that's probably the worst thing for me.
i don't get cramps or anything though. ;x pcos hasnt really affected my life, except for the fact that it's given my pimples, i'm fat, and i have dark skin patches on certain parts of body. but i mean, like, i live life as normally as i can. people dont treat me differently because i dont give them a reason to. i'm on the rowing team at my college. i'm in a sorority. i go to school. i party on the weekends at the fraternity houses. i love shopping. i love eatinggg. i love my friends.
it's really waht you make it. i dont even think about it most of the time. i think the best way of dealing with it, is to just go out and do things we all enjoy. ;D |

Points: 370.96 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 370.96 | I believe that everything happens for a reason. As for dealing though, It's really tough. I have to wake up a 5-5:30 every morning so that I have time to shave my face and arms in the morning. I hate it. I hate having a shadow at night and having stubble on my face. my foundation suprisingly covers a lot of the darkness, but still, it's embarassing. My facial skin gets red and irritated and starts to reakout because of sometimes.
I don't know if any of you guys have major ass or stomach hair. I know that people don't see it, but it makes me feel less of a woman, it makes me feel self concious. Everytime I want to go to the beach I have to shave those areas and it's such a pain.
And those dark spots. They make my arms pits , inner thighs, and my neck look dirty, like I don;t wash there but I do. It's all so embarassing.
Sorry about writing a novel guys, I just haven't been able to vent with people my age who are going through the same thing. |
