Hello cysters, I have read in a lot of places on the Internet how spearmint tea can help with excessive hair (one of my main problems) and maybe even help with hair loss (another problem) so I am very keen to give this a go, however, there is only one problem – I HATE TEA! Regardless of this, I thought let me give it a go so I managed to buy a packet of spearmint tea leaves from a company online and was really excited when it finally arrived. I read the instructions and did exactly what it said – steeped 1 tsp of spearmint tea in a mug of hot water for 10 mins – but when it came to drinking it I just couldn’t. I didn’t like the taste and felt like I was drinking muddy water! I was wondering if anyone has a special way of making spearmint tea to give it more flavour, etc? One of my friends suggested adding some honey, and I also read on the Internet that someone likes to mix spearmint tea with raspberry leaves, peppermint and chamomile flower heads to add flavour. Anyone got any other good ideas on how to make spearmint tea? Any help would be much appreciated…

I have some from Alvita. I'm not consistant with much of anything, this included. I like the taste, though. I'm already a tea drinker, so I'm sure that helps.

Some people just don't like some teas... For example rooibos seems to have become very hot as an ingredient in the last few years and I can't stand it. If I had to get a cup down for medicinal purposes, I could - but to drink for enjoyment, no way.
I have never actually tried just spearmint tea. I have read peppermint is helpful, too. I drink mint mixtures... Mint Medley is a good one (Bigelow, I think?) as is Celestial Seasonings Mint Magic. I guess it's not as potent as drinking the straight up spearmint, but it's something. One of these days I plan to try plain spearmint...
Anyway I like to add a teaspoon of turbinado sugar, milk, and ice to my hot tea. That's how I drink it. Mint tea unsweetened is not terrible but it's not my favorite, either. Just a tiny bit of sugar makes a huge difference.

"We've tried to wash our hands of all of this
We never talk of our lacking relationships
And how we're guilt-stricken, sobbing, with our heads on the floor
We fell through the ice when we tried not to slip..."
- the verve pipe
I know this might come across as being a really silly question but as I am not much of a tea drinker I don't really know the answer.
With herbal tea like spearmint tea, green tea, peppermint tea, etc is it OK to add milk and sugar? I was told that you couldn't/ shouldn't... Only hot water and the tea leaves.

I don't know why you couldn't add milk and sugar to it. There might be some reason, but I've not heard it. I'll do a little research and get back with you.
