Default How do you feel while taking Provera?

This is probably the 5th time in a little under a year that I've taken Provera and this is the worst I've felt. Yes, it's been a little longer since I've had a period (probably 5-6 months vs 3 or so [busy wedding planning and @ work, it just slipped my mind]) but not that much longer than usual. I just feel crappy this time! Little things set me off yesterday, I have what can't really be described as cramps, but more of an ache "down there," my tummy is somewhat upset, and this morning I have chills! I am on Day 6. Does Provera affect you differently from month-to-month, or maybe I'm just coming down with something?

I took provera for months last yr and each time it was diff. Some months it didn't do too much - swelling and general discomfort but that was all, then other months i got full on acne breakouts and mood swings PLUS the worst PMS ever. I'm not sure if it may have had to do with how long i went between cycles short ones were 28 and the longest i remember since dropping BC was 45 days.

I figured out what the issue was. I went to a new dr and this one prescribed me 10mg/10 days whereas my old one was prescribing me only 5mg/7 days! :O No wonder I was on a hormone roller-coaster!

I've taken Provera 10mg/10 days or 14 days so many times and never really had too many side effects. We are starting our first round of IVF and I starting giving myself Lupron shots on Monday night. The last 2 days I have been OUT OF CONTROL!! I have never felt this out of hand in my life. I could cry at the drop of a hat, my poor DH does everything wrong (not really I just think he does) I can't sleep! It's just terrible!! I hoping that when I'm done Provera on Sunday & continue taking the Lupron this goes away. Horomones can be a great thing and a bad thing!

I even had my first accupunture treatment yesterday and could hardly relax.

Hope all of our horomones settle down!

I have to start provera again after not having af for 3 months. I hope I don't get any side effects, but my dr. only gave me five pills to take.

I took my first dose today of 10mg/10 days. I haven't taken it in well over a decade and really don't remember. My doctor told me I will be a "raging *****" (her exact words) this weekend, and honestly, I'm there. Does this subside after a few days? I'm not sure I can handle it!

LadyPL, I remember that the s/e's lasted for a few days for me. Since I posted though (and made the discovery that the RE had given me almost triple the dosage of my ob/gyn!), I've just been using 1 prescription for 2 cycles and I've been ok.

I haven't really noticed any specific side effects...although this whole process seems to make me overly emotional more days than not. So who knows if that comes from taking the provera at all.

The first time I was on Provera (10 mg for 5 days) I didn't have any side effects. My doctor put me on it again last week for 10 days. I'm on day 8 and no side effects so far.

The first time I took 10mg/10 days and I had the worst stomach cramps. I couldn't sleep. Not nausea, my stomach hurt. I wasn't moody, though. The second time (same mg and time) I had no idea side effects. So even though nothing was changed with my dosage the experiences were different. I wonder if other factors play a role like diet, exercise, stress, etc. The second time around I was definately eating better and working out more....

The first time I took it I had no side effects at all. It didn't work to bring AF though. Now I am on the last day (day 7) of 10mg and don't feel so hot. Yesterday I got really tired in the middle of the day and zonked out. Then last night I blew up at my dh for no reason at all and then I started crying. WTF?! I sure hope it works this time around.
