How do you know if met dose is high enough? I started Gluc XR about 3 months ago, and much to my great shock, I have had 2 AF. I got AF about a month after starting the GlucXR, then got AF again about 6 weeks after the end of the first AF. WOW, that means it wasn't a fluke! I'm just amazed to finally be joining the ranks of the "miracle" cases.
I'm only on 1000mg dose. I asked my doctor if I should go on up to 1500 or stay at 1000mg since I did get AF. My body tends to respond to lower doses of medications in general. She said stay at the lower dose and see if I get AF again -- which I did.
So my question is how do you know if it's working well *enough*? Might my AF be less "sluggish" if I took 1500? I have read TCOYF, so I know that everyone does not have AF at a textbook 28 days. I have seen no changes at all in my weight, oily skin, face/body hair, etc. and I do not feel more energetic or anything like that.
I'm wondering, if by some miracle I can actually get pregnant, is it possible that I'd still have too-high androgen levels which could endanger the baby's development? Or would too-high androgens prevent me from conceiving in the first place? I just want everything to work properly when I do finally conceive.
But I also don't want to take more medication than I need to, especially since I seem to be having no side-effect problems.
